BoA
Singer BoA sees her exclusive contract with SM ENTERTAINMENT expire today, drawing attention to her upcoming career choices.

According to the music industry, BoA’s contract with SM ENTERTAINMENT officially ends today. She herself announced this deadline last April via her social media. At the time, she stated, sparking numerous reactions:
“When my contract ends, will I be able to retire? My contract is valid until December 31, 2025. Until then, I will do my best and fully enjoy it.”
Subsequently, BoA continued her activities by announcing her concert “BoA LIVE TOUR – BoA: One’s Own”, and among fans, attention focused more on a possible contract renewal or continuation of her activities rather than retirement. However, to date, SM ENTERTAINMENT has not made an official statement regarding a renewal.
BoA debuted in 2000 at the age of 13 and made history in Kpop with numerous hits such as “No.1”, “My name”, and “Atlantis princess”. She was the first Korean singer to reach first place on the Japanese Oricon chart, opening the global market and earning the title of “Asian Star.” This year, for her 25th career anniversary, she released her 11th studio album, “CRAZIER”, confirming her enduring presence in the music scene.
Beyond her musical career, BoA has also invested in acting, production, and held an executive position at SM ENTERTAINMENT, embodying the company’s iconic artist for 25 years. As her contract comes to an end, the industry and fans are keenly awaiting to see whether she will continue her journey with SM ENTERTAINMENT or begin a new chapter in a different environment.
