The group NEWJEANS has earned its very first song to surpass 900 million streams on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify.

According to Spotify on January 16, NEWJEANS’ single “OMG”, along with its title track of the same name, recorded 900,136,493 streams as of January 14. After surpassing 800 million cumulative streams in March of last year, the song added another 100 million streams in approximately 10 months, demonstrating its sustained global impact.
“OMG” is an R&B hip-hop track that blends UK garage and trap rhythms. Its iconic choreography, featuring hands placed on the head while lightly nodding along to the lyrics “Oh my oh my God,” pairs with a bright and catchy melody, creating strong addictiveness and massive popularity.
Since its release in January 2023, “OMG” climbed to No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and remained on the chart for six weeks, setting an exceptional record for a K-pop rookie song at the time. The track also reached No. 10 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 7 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, showing outstanding performances across global charts. In particular, together with “Ditto”, which is included on the same album, the song dominated major domestic and international charts for an extended period, establishing itself as one of the biggest hits of the year.
With “OMG,” NEWJEANS now has a total of 15 songs that have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. “Super shy” and “Ditto” have exceeded 800 million streams, “Hype boy” has surpassed 700 million, “Attention” has passed 500 million, “New Jeans” and “ETA” have exceeded 400 million, “Cookie” has surpassed 300 million, while “Hurt,” “Cool with you,” “How sweet,” and “Supernatural” have each passed 200 million streams. “ASAP,” “Get up,” and “Bubble gum” have each surpassed 100 million streams. The total cumulative Spotify streams for all songs released by NEWJEANS have now exceeded 7.2 billion.
