The singer KIM SUNG KYU will make his solo comeback in March.
His agency, BILLIONS, announced the news of his comeback by unveiling, at midnight KST on January 30 via its official SNS, the scheduler for KIM SUNG KYU’s 6th mini-album, “OFF THE MAP”.
The revealed scheduler drew attention with a calendar image displaying the schedule for “OFF THE MAP” against a dark background. On this calendar with empty dates, only February 21 and March 2 feature images of a chair and a telescope respectively, strongly piquing the curiosity of fans around the world.
Thus, this scheduler, in which all information except the album name and release date remains concealed, stimulated fans’ imagination. Numerous contents impossible to predict until release are scheduled to be gradually unveiled, raising both tension and anticipation among fans who had long been hoping for KIM SUNG KYU’s comeback.
Excluding various OSTs and remake tracks, it has been approximately two years and eight months since KIM SUNG KYU released a solo album, following the June 2023 release of his 5th mini-album “2023 에스에스 컬렉션” (“2023 S/S COLLECTION”). With that previous work capturing his own diverse summer moods, he swept numerous global charts and proved the value of a vocalist representing South Korea.
In addition to the scheduler revealed that day, mysterious images whose meanings remain undetermined are being released via a separate promotional Instagram account dedicated to “OFF THE MAP”, further heightening fans’ anticipation. From behind-the-scenes photos suggesting a promotional shoot for the new album to images that appear to conceal a specific message, various visuals are being uploaded one after another, sparking diverse interpretations and reactions from fans.
Confirming a comeback in March, heralding the beginning of spring, KIM SUNG KYU plans to demonstrate further growth in his musical capabilities with his new album “OFF THE MAP”, carefully prepared over a long period.
