The member of the group ZEROBASEONE, PARK GUN WOOK, bowed his head concerning the “manipulation controversy” that broke out during a fan sign event.
PARK GUN WOOK published a long text on June 5th via a fan communication platform to express his apologies concerning his behavior during the recent fan sign event.
He stated: “I am publishing this text because I wish to offer my sincere apologies for my behavior during the recent fan sign event”, adding: “At that moment, I should have judged and acted with more caution, but I was not able to do so. I accept the idea with a heavy heart that I caused confusion and pain to many people because of this.”
He continued by apologizing: “I sincerely apologize to those who were troubled and hurt by my shortcomings”, and “Although I have always considered the love that fans send me as precious, I am sorry for not being able to show an image that lives up to that love.”
He also added: “I will not take this matter lightly and I will sincerely reflect”, and “I am sorry to have disappointed once again the Zerose who supported and trusted us together for the activities of this album. I also want to say that I am sorry toward the members of my group ZEROBASEONE as well as toward the staff who work hard by our side.”
Finally, he once again bowed his head, declaring: “In the future, I will act with more caution, I will sincerely reflect and I will grow so that I can become a person who will not shame the trust that Zerose send me”, and “I am once again sincerely sorry.”
Previously, PARK GUN WOOK had found himself at the center of a suspicion according to which he allegedly called a different number from the one he had himself drawn, while he was conducting a polaroid photo giveaway event during a recent in-person signing session. The controversy grew as the scene in question spread on online communities and social media through videos filmed by fans.
Suspicious were raised among some fans who wondered if he had not attempted to arbitrarily modify the winner in order to give an advantage to a specific participant, and criticisms surrounding the fairness issue ensued.
