SEVENTEEN : The kings of Carat land.
Group SEVENTEEN (SCOUPS 에스쿱스, JEONG HAN 정한, JOSHUA 조슈아, JUN 준, HOSHI 호시, WONWOO 원우, WOOZI 우지, THE8 디에잇, MINGYU 민규, DOGYEOM 도겸, SEUNG KWAN 승관, VERNON 버논, DINO 디노) held its second fan meeting, “SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND“, in front of more than 20.000 fans.
This second fan meeting comes a year after the first one. A meeting allowing the fans and the group to be able to exchange, more directly, their love in order to support each other.
Everything starts right out of the subway with many posters displaying each member individually. These are leading us to the entrance of the venue and fans are taking pictures, all along the way, in front of their favorite member.
Once seated in the venue, the lighsticks settings are done by the lighting directors during the waiting time. At each setting and color change, the fans make their voices heard and, as soon as a male figure appears on stage, the hysterical screams of the whole assembly resonate.
The atmosphere is already at its height.
Video clips are showned one after another to energize the fans. At the end of the last one, the word “scream” appears on the screens and everything turns completely black. The show begins.
The first intro video of the show is a kind of advertisement for a video game, in which the characters are the different members of the group. Suddenly, the lighsticks light up in blue to announce SEVENTEEN‘s arrival on stage.
A first rather sweet title, “I do not know, well 글쎄“, brings a first little magical atmosphere. The boys are dressed like princes with purple jackets, white shirts and black pants, all amplifying the effect. At the end of the song, the members retire one by one, to return in a specific order, as if they were appearing for the first time in public. The opportunity for each fan to express his/her love for his/her favorite member. This moment will end with the appearance of a piano and a dancer, all covered in a ruby-colored light.
The lighsticks then turn blue again to announce the song “I don’t wanna cry 울고 싶지 않아”. The stage interacts with the glow sticks, giving the impression of a dialogue between the two. Then follow the titles “Without you 모자를 눌러 쓰고” and “Clap 박수”.
A new video allows the members to leave the stage. This time, it shows us all the boys during a draw to know who will be designated as the host of the evening, and the big winner is JEONG HAN. The young man thus comes up on stage, arriving somewhat breathless and a little stressed, telling us that this is the first time he is an emcee for such a long time. Throughout the concert, he will play along with the fans and will act with great professionalism.
The 13 members of SEVENTEEN are then back on stage and introduce themselves one by one. This part of the show, which the group has already repeated a lot of times, becomes the one with the most mistakes: the boys, confessing their stress, do mistake in their lyrics, switch their names and their positions … Until a moment of great hilarity when one of them, wishing to ask his fans to take care of them, says:
“I wish you all to get sick”.
The boys continue with a first game. The goal is to remember what happened in relation to an anecdote that one of them reveals. At each error, a blow of (false) hammer is given to the one who was mistaken. Although SEVENTEEN are currently divided into several teams (dance, hiphop and vocal), only the vocal team plays because the game takes time.
The show goes on with a longer video, made especially for the fans. It shows the first meetings of the boys with each other before their debut, the different courses that they had, their life together and the auditions in front of the company members … Until the validation of them being part of SEVENTEEN. A light and funny moment, but full of emotions.
The following 3 songs are team titles. The first is the vocal team one, “바람개비“, then the dance team on “13 월 의 춤” and finally the hiphop team with “Trauma“.
The boys keep on competing in teams to become the king of “Carat Land” on the titles “입버릇“, “Swimming fool” and “언행 일치“.
The end of the show is rewarded with a special stage, as fans discover the title “Thanks 고맙다” which will be released next May.
For the encore, the boys come back on stage with the titles “캠프 파이어” and “Mansae 만세“.
A second fan meeting which took place in the most total success. The fans, the band and the scene shining in harmony.
