BTOB electrified the hall of the Olympic Gymnastic Arena in Seoul this Friday, August 10, with their show “2018 BTOB TIME: THIS IS UP“.

Everything begins in semi-darkness, the room only lit by the official lighsticks flooding the place with an electric blue. The 7 members of BTOB arrive on stage in dark clothes, very classy and close to the body, highlighting them and revealing their virile and masculine side.
When “언젠가” is heard, the color changes to green and yellow. The decor of the screen, a clock, illustrates well the title. The singers make no false notes and bring sweetness. As for the rappers, who come in power, they add that touching and strong vibe which leaves the audience “mouth wide open“. At the end of the song, the room plunges back into this bluish darkness, bringing us into a magical and nostalgic atmosphere.
Suddenly, it’s all black, the cries of the first raw fans are heard and sound throughout the room. What is going on ?
The band members are just placing themselves on the edge of the stage.
When the room turns on, it is adorned with a purple color to emphasize the first notes of the title “Killing me“. The screens accentuate the feeling by writing the words in English:
“I don’t wanna lose you”
After these moments of emotions comes a more fun time, the “Beat check”: the boys say “BTOB beat check” and the fans must respond “Bambam” in rhythm. The first try is a little memorable but, very professionally, the boys react as if nothing had happened, keeping their seriousness. Which gives the people a good laugh.
Following this verbal exchange led by SUNGJAE and EUNKWANG, BTOB interpret the title “Call me“. Joined by dancers, the members are carried away by the joy of being there with their fans and, beyond being precise in their choreography, exude a lot of good humor, with smiles on their lips. Which does not detract from the quality of the show.
The group remains in this euphoria by moving on directly to the title “Yeah“, walking around the stage and enjoying the moment.
Then follows a Q & A with the broadcast of a small film showing each member of the group upon waking up. The questions are flooding: “What will we drink in the morning? What kind of haircuts will we have?”. Each time, the public has to choose between 2 answers and is eager to shout them with enthusiasm .
One of the questions that everyone laughs at is: “What kind of size do you prefer for a man, tall or short?“ Then appears on the screen the shortest member of the group with his 170 cm.
A moment of joy for everyone, as the most fun answers are always chosen.
The video goes on, showing the band preparing a new melody. The questions are still following one another and, this time, fans have the choice between different colors. According to the chosen one, the film reveals a member with a musical intro and the charms of each of the boys.
At the end of this video, the screen rises and reveals a piano on which HYUNSIK plays like a crooner while singing in English. A moment that plunges the room into a complete silence, the public being carried away by the singer’s voice.
We remain in these moments of emotions while PENIEL and SUNGJAE step on stage for their duet on the title “Hypnotized“. A mix of the rapper’s energetic voice and the depth of the singer’s one.
The next to perform is CHANGSUB with the title “At the end“. A very intense moment for the singer. In the middle of the song, the camera focuses on him, the music stops, revealing his face close to tears. When the music starts again, CHANGSUB unleashes all its vocal power, on particularly high notes.
Changing of atmosphere and style while a throne appears in the middle of the stage for ILHOON who floods us with his charisma on the title “Big wave“.
MINHYUK, meanwhile, sings the title “All day” in a pink silk outfit. The young man is chic, jazzy, delicate and … sexy. He uses his different talents and amazes us with his rap and his dancing skills. The audience becomes a little excited when, at the end of the song, the young man finds himself in a basin filled with water to the ankle, to finish with a sexy choreography.
A new video is then broadcasted, bringing us back to the early days of the group: their first TV, their first stage … The focus is on the flaws and errors of each member, which are played in a loop. It reveals the profile of the 7 boys, one by one, while they walk towards the public as if they were parading on a podium in very high fashion outfits. The fans are crying with laughter.
BTOB then perform their old titles and choreographies, making the same mistakes as there debuts. A moment of intense joy for the whole room. The boys reveal that they are dressed in the exactly same outfits as when they debuted. About that, they say:
“Skinny jeans of that time are a bit uncomfortable, could we go change please?”
BTOB remind us that they have been nicknamed “래퍼 부자” (rich rappers) because, in the group, rappers also know how to sing.
The show goes on with the titles “비가 내리면“, “Ice breaker“, “이등병 의 편지“, “괜찮아요“, … “Shake it“.
For the song “Ice breaker“, MINHYUK, PENIEL and ILHOON perform in animal costume (a kangaroo, a rabbit and a tiger). The kangaroo and the rabbit eventually pushing the dancers to the exit to leave the tiger alone on stage.

A show in the colors of the group: humor, performance, an exchange with fans … BTOB are undoubtedly great artists you don’t want to miss in concert.
Catch-up tomorrow with their second show.
