Who will the court hold responsible for the failure of the first group of the JTBC hearings program, MIXNINE?

The Seoul Central District Court will take legal action for the breach of the ‘MIXNINE‘ contract on February 27th.
HAPPYFACE Entertainment filed a lawsuit against YG Entertainment last June regarding the failure of the ‘MIXNINE‘ contract, JTBC‘s audition program. HAPPYFACE Entertainment representing WOO JIN YOUNG.
As a reminder, ‘MIXNINE‘ was a JTBC audition program that ended in January 2018. HAN DONG CHUL producer of Show Me The Money and YANG HYUN SEOK director of YG Entertainemnt, had attracted considerable attention even before the broadcast of the show. However, “MIXNINE” aroused controversy as the top nine members of the final selection group failed to make their debut after several months of closing the program.
“YG Entertainment made no mention of the preparation and plans for its debut, even two months after the end of ‘MIXNINE‘,” said HAPPYFACE Entertainment, while YG Entertainment said: “It was totally unexpected that lawsuit for damages is brought, and we will try to minimize any misunderstanding in the final judgment of the court. ”
During the trial, YG Entertainment‘s legal representative explained the failure process of the winning group of “MIXNINE” and said: “The nine members selected to start belong to different agencies and two of them belong to YG Entertainment. If the program had gone well, it would not have happened that way, but the program didn’t go well, and I am sad, and we have also witnessed a lot of hearing loss. ” In addition “We prepared with the staff for a group success over a period of four months, but there was no positive perspective on the situation. I suggested that we have a period of three years because I don’t think we can make the winning group a success in four months. ”
It was confirmed that both parties failed to reach an agreement even on the last day of the January 16th hearing.
