The ROCKET PUNCH are back with a “girls cruch” concept.
Today, February 10, the young WOOLLIM ENTERTAINMENT group, ROCKET PUNCH, composed of 6 members JURI, YEONHEE, SUYUN, YUNKYOUNG, SOHEE and DAHYUN is back with a new mini-album “RED PUNCH”. ROCKET PUNCH made its debut in August 2019 with its first mini-album “PINK PUNCH” and the colorful concept track “Bim bam bum”.
For its debut, ROCKET PUNCH, which is the little sister of INFINITE, LOVELYZ and GOLDEN CHILD, attracted attention because member JURI, of Japanese origin, was part of the well-known group AKB48 and participated in the show, “survival” type, Produce 48, finishing in 16th place. SUHYUN and SOHEE also participated in the show finishing respectively in 47th and 43rd place. The 6 young girls had presented us with a first “girly punchy” concept attracting attention. For this comeback, they accentuate the power with their photo teasers to show even more character.
On this afternoon of February 10 in Seoul at the Bluesquare Imarket, ROCKET PUNCH appears in front of the press to present its second mini-album “RED PUNCH“. The young girls make their appearance on stage before briefly introducing themselves:
YEONHEE (연희): Born on December 6, 2000, she is the leader of ROCKET PUNCH. Her hobbies are sudokus and watching concert videos and her specialties are skateboarding and the Korean game Cham. Her strengths are her positive energy and her personality which she associates with that of a rabbit.
- JURI (쥬리): born on October 3, 1997, she likes watching movies and listening to rock music. Her specialties are giving quick winks and having both sexy and cute facial expressions. Her favorite thing about her is her eyes.
- SUYUN (수윤): born on March 17, 2001, she dominates the other members from the height of her 1.70 meters. She likes photography and coloring books and knows how to perform high jumps. She loves her laugh, which she describes as refreshing.
- YUNKYOUNG (윤경): born on November 1, 2001, she is passionate about the field of beauty, in particular by watching a lot of videos on this subject. Her specialty is being able to quickly eat lemons and she loves the cold appearance she can give off.
- SOHEE (소희): Born August 14, 2003, she enjoys spending her free time on YouTube and has an unusual specialty in Kendo, a Japanese martial art, as well as an aptitude for vocal imitations. She finds that her strong point is her attractive charm from the fourth dimension…
- DAHYUN (다현): born on April 29, 2005, she is the maknae of the group. She enjoys watching videos of people eating, as well as playing rock-paper-scissors. Her specialty is knowing the capitals of the world and she loves his comely appearance.
YUNKYOUNG and SUYUN both came of age this year in Korea. Happy, however, they are not yet fully aware of being an adult now. JURI, who is Japanese, made a point of delivering a speech of thanks for the fans of the group, as well as all other people supporting them. With some difficulty speaking Korean, jer members gladly helped her express herself. DAHYUN confides that since their debut she has grown two centimeters, being still very young. After taking some photos, the girls quickly introduce this second mini-album containing the following seven tracks:
- « Red Punch »
- « Bouncy » (바운시) : The album’s title track, it’s a pop-dance song with a loud, repeating drum sound. It expresses the boldness and confident energy of ROCKET PUNCH with the help of smooth rapping and the powerful vocals of the members, as seen in the lyrics “I wanna hit the world with Rocket Punch“, demonstrating the strong aspirations of the girls for their future.
- « So Solo » : A retro pop-style song, it was produced by Space One, who worked with Hyuna and Wanna One, among others. The strong point of this title is the colorful chorus, as well as its minimalist composition. It brings out the bold charm of young girls who want to run towards their dreams.
- « Fireworks » : This title allows, in an ambiguous way, to express one’s love to a man, this love giving rise to this impressive song which will shine and stand out like a flame in the night sky.
- « Paper Star » (종이별) : This title refers to the precious secret that hides in someone’s heart. It expresses the feelings of young girls with the help of lyrical lyrics and its emotional melody expressing a wish enclosed in a glass bottle.
- « Lilac » (다시, 봄) : This ballad underlined on the piano makes it possible to overcome the cold winter and to welcome spring, like a lilac flower. She is a gift from the group to their fans to signify that the girls still want to meet them, those who have waited all winter to see them again.
- « Girl Friend » (여자사람친구) : A song about a friend expressing her feelings after being stuck in the hustle and bustle of a party, showing the charming voices of ROCKET PUNCH through the melody.
YEONHEE describes this album as being full of energy and strength while showing the cuteness of the members since their debut. This comeback is, for the girls, an opportunity to show their self-confidence. Their songs are danceable and pop, a way for the members to show off their bubbly personalities.

After this presentation, they interpret the title “So Solo”, raising the charisma of the six members who deliver a lively and as expected energetic performance. For JURI, their title song is comparable to a Hot Pack, a small warming pouch for the hands, it is both comforting, soft in a way, but burning at the same time.

DAHYUN who doesn’t quite agree, chooses YUNKYOUNG for her visual during this comeback. Changing the subject, the latter talks about the key point of the choreography of their title song, called “driving“, before the members perform and dance this part of the dance. Then, the clip is revealed, before the members are singing on stage. The girls are smiling and the stage belongs to them. Once “Bouncy” is completed, it’s time for the group to answer questions from journalists. During the six months without promotions, leader YEONHEE thinks that the cohesion within of the group has strengthened. The girls are unanimous in saying that they all come out well both in the clip and on stage and are satisfied with the result after their hard training.

Other members also cite blue for its refreshing appearance. Speaking about entertainment later, SUYUN listed Super Junior’s Kim Heechul as a personality she would like to meet on a show in the future. After a few thanks, the group ROCKET PUNCH finally left the stage, ending the showcase.
This new album, consisting of a 41-page photobook, is entirely in red hues, also with a sheet of stickers, a random photocard and a heart-shaped band card.
