Group BTS has been selected as “Hottest summer superstar” by UK MTV for two consecutive years.
British MTV announced on August 29th (local time) that BTS has been selected this year as “MTV Hotest Summer Superstar” on its official website and SNS.
“MTV Hotest Summer Superstar” is an event where British MTV selects the best superstar by online vote every summer since 2013. Fans have voted with online hashtags for nominees from 50 different groups.
In this year’s vote, BTS topped the list with 33.2 million votes, while Blackpink came in second with 3.24 million votes.
BTS was also named a “Hottest Summer Superstar” last year, leading the poll.
Previously, from 2013 to 2015, One Direction, Peafs Harmony in 2016, Lady Gaga in 2017 and Selena Gomez in 2018. BTS is the first group to take the number one spot for two consecutive years since One Direction.
