OH MY GIRL
OH MY GIRL‘s young women are making their comeback today with an 8th album titled “DEAR OH MY GIRL“.

Consisting of members HYOJUNG, MIMI, YOOA, SEUNGHEE, JIHO, BINNIE and ARIN, the group originated from WM ENTERTAINMENT. It was during an online showcase on YouTube this Monday, May 10, that it made its comeback, carried by the title “Dun dun dance“, thirteen months since its last promotions. This new album is composed of six songs to explore the different facets of spring, a colorful season that the group associates with watercolor. The young women are back with disco and funk tones, a title intended to be dynamic. Before the presentation of “Dun dun dance“, the emcee warns journalists that MIMI will not be present during this showcase, for personal reasons. Without further ado, the rest of the group take the stage for a first performance, following the broadcast of the associated MV. The performance of the girls is colorful, like their MV where we discover them in various scenes, after meeting aliens.
“We trained hard for this comeback, I think our efforts have paid back.” – ARIN
This album is special to them as it is the first since their selftitled debut one. Therefore, they consider this one to be the most representative of their style, which is bubbly and sharp. YOOA shows a few dance steps that the group performs during the chorus, where the singers have their hands above their heads, like rabbits. It is a dance requiring a lot of energy according to them, and they hope that their fans will try to reproduce this choreography. During the filming of the MV, the most memorable moment for SEUNGHEE was during the end scene, on one of Jeju Island’s beaches: the young girls had to wave the horizon with their hands, but HYOJUNG did it with both arms, quite mechanically, which made the whole group laugh. Subsequently, they present the various songs from the album.
“I hope that, for our fans, the song “Dear you” will comfort you and soothe your worries.” – HYOJUNG
“Dun dun dance” is the first track opening this new album, followed by “Dear you (나의 봄에게)” which is a song intended to be comforting, carried by the warm voices of the young girls. The next title is “나의 인형 (안녕, 꿈에서 놀아)”, in which the singers invite you to join them in a magical world, based on their childhood dreams. The fourth song is “Quest“, this time making us dive into the world of video games, with its sounds. Then, “초대장” addresses the theme of the meeting, when we take the courage to go to a stranger despite our shyness. the last track is “Swan“, in which we return to the world of dreams, to end this album with softness and lightness.
Last year, the young women found success with the titles “Dolphin” and “Non stop“. They believe that the key to this success lies in the perseverance of their efforts, never giving up in their career. For BINNIE, the strength of the group and its cohesion and their different personality complement each other. YOOA hopes the dance of “Dun dun dance” will be simple enough for the fans, and thus considers that there is no particular “killing part”, in an effort not to complicate the choreography. HYOJUNG and ARIN dream that this year be the one for OH MY GIRL, that the group becomes known more for their unique musical imprint.
Before closing this showcase, the group decides to present the song “Dear you (나의 봄에게)“, offering a magical and delicate performance. The members’ voices are soft and the melody is of the most soothing. OH MY GIRL end this hour spent with journalists by thanking averyone who will pay attention to their new album, and hope that it will be appreciated by their fans. The young women say they will continue to work hard and improve for an upcoming comeback, while finishing the showcase.
