NAM WOOHYUN: First comeback since returning to normal life

NAM WOOHYUN from the group INFINITE makes his comeback with a fourth mini album, “WITH”.

The young singer of WOOLLIM ENTERTAINMENT returns to the forefront, two years and five months after the release of his previous album, having completed his military service. This album represents the uniqueness between the young man and his fans, like a gift he sends them. The goal for him with this comeback was to unveil a sexier side of him, which he believes is a side expected by fans. This album represents passion, sensuality and gentleness, these themes expressed through six tracks. In addition, NAM WOOHYUN participated in the writing of most of the songs to bring his personal touch. The songs in this album are:

“With“: intro track that captivates the ears with a lyrical guitar melody and the sound of the brass gradually rising to emphasize the whole song.
“냉정과 열정 사이”: The title track of the album, pop R&B genre with a dreamy vibe, a concise but sentimental beat and the artist’s understated voice. The lyrics speak of calm but intense love, maximizing the atmosphere of a sleepy and sexy song. She is selected by NAM WOOHYUN as the best on the album.
“Lonely night” : pop style song with moving lyrics and melody, expressing the night when moonlight and starlight in the night sky warmly embrace.

“My diary”: R&B pop song with a lyrical piano and a groovy baseline. The softly voiced chorus melody is addictive.
“Alone”: synth-pop song presenting a cinematic atmosphere with a noir concept, with vintage sound and a rich chorus. The singer’s soft voice, unlike the harsh and dangerous lyrics, amplifies the charm of the song.
“A song for you”:tropical house genre song that gives a rich feel with synthetic brass on the guitar riff sound. The singer’s voice allows us to feel both warmth and freshness.

NAM WOOHYUN confides that upon final listening of all the tracks, the track “냉정과 열정 사이” stood out to him as the main song of the album. He thus prepared himself hard to enter the atmosphere of the song in order to film a clip at the height of the feelings expressed in the lyrics. After more than two years of absence, the challenge was great, to be sure to please the fans. As for the choreography, the key point is a subtle movement of the shoulders to underline the sensuality of the dance. Additionally, the clip explores time travel to win back an old lost love. He was looking to create a different identity for himself compared to the one he has within the INFINITE group.

During the press showcase to present his new album “WITH”, NAM WOOHYUN perform two different tracks. The first is the eponymous one on the album; a soft ballad rich in emotions. The second is the title song, with dancers joining the singer on stage to accompany him in his sultry performance. Once these two services are completed, he takes the time to give himself more to the journalists present. He confides first of all a regret, that of not being able to include more songs in this album despite his long absence, but remains grateful to be able to continue to develop his solo career. Then he states that on his days off he enjoys meeting his friends or chilling out at home, but being on stage and in contact with fans is his favorite thing above all. In addition, it is also present in other activities, such as musicals or acting. Whether he’s on stage as INFINITE’s WOOHYUN or NAM WOOHYUN, it’s always a pleasure for him, even if a solo career represents more challenges.
