B.I.G : Already their 8th year anniversary !
B.I.G is thankful to the fans who supported the group for 8 years.
B.I.G made its debut on July 9th, 2014 with the song « HELLO » written to support the Korean soccer team during FIFA 2014. The title is quickly noticed thanks to its lyrics praising South Korea and Korean culture.
Hanguk (Korean for Korea), this is Korea.
It’s the most Gangnam Style (country) in Asia.
The language I use is Hangul.
It’s small, but it’s a big country that will blow your mind.
The group made its debut with five members, J-HOON, BENJI, GUNMIN, MINPYO, and HEEDO. JINSEOK joined them later, in January 2019. Not long before BENJI and MINPYO‘s contract got terminated.
Despite their hot debut in a small company, they didn’t meet a huge success until February 2019.
In February 2019, the group was invited to KBS Arabic World where they covered in Arabic the song « La Bezzaf » by THE5. It was an immediate buzz! A few days later, they published a video on their YouTube channel reaching 1 million views in less than a week.
After that, they covered other songs in Arabic like « LM3ALLEM » « Boshret Kheir », and « 3DAQAT ». The same year, they received the « Korean Award for shining Korea », and in October 2021, they got appointed as Goodwill Ambassadors for the KAS (Korea-Arab Society).
B.I.G is the first group in K-Pop history to release a comeback in Arabic thanks to its steady popularity in the Arab region.
A few days after the release, the members went to promote their comeback in Abu Dhabi during the Korea Festival 2019.
Concerts in the Arabic countries had been planned, but they didn’t happen due to the pandemic. The concerts were online and B.I.G got invited to the KOREA-UAE K-Pop Festival, and the 14th and 15th KOREA-ARAB Friendship Caravan. A live concert will finally happen on July 16th in Tunisia during the Festival International de Carthage.
Today, B.I.G celebrates its 8th anniversary. For the occasion, they published original photos in which GUNMIN, J-HOON, HEEDO, and JINSEOKhave a mature and sexy look.
They also published a video on their YouTube channel in which they thank Biginnings (name of their fandom) for their continuous support while enjoying the cakes and the snacks gifted to them.
