BTOB
It is on this last Friday of 2022 that KSTATION TV is going to meet the talented group BTOB, who are giving a concert to accompany their fans until next year.
BTOB is a group of CUBE ENTERTAINMENT composed of members MINHYUK, SUNGJAE, EUNKWANG, CHANGSUB, HYUNSIK and PENIEL, having debuted in 2012.
Ten years later, they celebrate their anniversary as well as the end of the year with a series of three concerts in Seoul, at the KSPO Dome Olympic stadium. This concert is all the more important, since the last one the group held was four years ago, enough to stir up the interest as well as the excitement of MELODY, their fans.
Before the start of the concert, which takes place at 5 p.m. KST on Friday, journalists present for the event can attend a press conference held by the group to discuss in more detail their return to the stage to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
To set the tone for this weekend full of emotions, the concert is called “BTOB TIME (Be Together)“. We therefore find the group for the first time in a hall of the stadium, just before the launch of their concert.
The members of the group begin by introducing themselves individually, not failing to thank the journalists who came despite the freezing cold hitting Seoul. EUNKWANG also confides that the group is quite stressed, but impatient, to be able to hold a concert for four years, and that they have prepared hard for their fans. Moreover, they are very happy, SUNGJAE adds, to be able to be all together after the army that separated them.

With this unexpected little phrase, MINHYUK makes the audience laugh. EUNKWANG continues on this path, saying that today will be a day filled with laughter only, because after going to the army, they can no longer cry.
Indeed, at each interaction with the journalists, the members joke, being surprised by certain questions. As soon as one member looks at another, the laughter resumes, and it is with difficulty that they answer the questions. EUNKWANG, as the leader of the group, affirms that the group is very happy to stand on stage for concerts, and that despite the stress, and the fatigue of the preparations, knowing that they will spend the last days of 2022 with their fans brings them strength.
HYUNSIK says he was unaware of how quickly time has passed since they last met with their fans.
“While preparing our concert, we were of course tense, for fear of doing wrong, but thanks to the strength of BTOB, we made even the rehearsals rich in memories and meaning.” – HYUNSIK
Above all, the members are grateful that they can still be together after ten years, which allows them to focus more on the present moment with MELODY. They no longer feel the need to receive approval from the music industry. When asked how BTOB of today is different from BTOB of ten years ago, SUNGJAE cites the transformation of EUNKWANG, who has grown not only as a leader, but also as a singer, since the group continues to take singing lessons to perfect their technique a little more.
Their new goal is to please the fans, especially during concerts by singing the songs expected by them, as well as solo songs and a “medley girlsband” part, BTOB being known for its humorous covers of female dances.
It is a concert made above all for fun, but to speak more seriously, BTOB answers questions from KSTATION TV. The first concerns their career goal as a group of ten:
“I wish I could be standing in this room in ten years, which will mean that we will have remained united, and that we will have many more great years with our fans to spend” – CHANGSUB
For the second part of the question, we called on our Instagram followers, and it was a request from Séverine from Grenoble – France that we put forward. Wishing to know if the European MELODYS could hope for concerts in Europe.
“We also thought about the prospect of doing online concerts for our overseas fans, but instead we thought about the option of holding concerts and other events overseas. We can’t wait to go to the MIK FESTIVAL which will be held in France in February, and once this series of concerts is over, we will start preparing ourselves so as not to disappoint our foreign, European and French fans. It also made us realize that MELODYs were waiting for us outside Korean borders.” – EUNKWANG
Next, they address their most memorable memory in ten years. EUNKWANG cites the beginning of the group’s internship, concretizing the members’ years of training. PENIEL quotes another moment which once again makes the members laugh by the way he quoted this anecdote: “during a meal with the director of the agency before the debut of the group, PENIEL had to answer the question “If BTOB doesn’t debut, will you die?” Of course, PENIEL answered no, and the director bounced back to tell him that he must have thought he was going to die, not just him, but everyone. group, so that PENIEL proves itself as a member of the group.

SUNGJAE talks about his last concert, and the fact that many people asked him about the army. Many fans had cried at that moment, which marked him deeply. He therefore hopes to offer much better memories to the MELODYs, now that the group no longer has to go to the army. SUNGJAE continues with lyrics that are equally rich in meaning, saying that the members were his family, and that even when he has solo activities, he wants to return to BTOB, where he feels his true place lies. HYUNSIK adds that spending New Year’s Eve with fans is also proof that MELODY is BTOB’s family.
This is how the press conference ends, before celebrating the launch of these three days of concert. The members thank the journalists who came one by one, and wish to see the journalists present again next year for other events relating to the group. They also hope that everyone will take care of their health, and that fans, as well as journalists, will enjoy attending the concerts.
