“SEVENTEEN’s younger group” TWS will finally take its first steps into the world as artists today.

TWS (Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon and Kyungmin) will release its debut album, “SPARKLING BLUE“, at 6 p.m. KST on January 22. TWS is the first boy group that Pledis Entertainment will feature in nine years, since Seventeen, and is the first Hybe Labels artist to debut in 2024. It is made up of six elite members with strong performance skills, visuals and excellent musical sense.
TWS stands for “TWENTY FOUR SEVEN WITH US“, and the number 24 for a day and the number 7 for a week mean “at all times“. In other words, the group name implies “still with TWS.” They want to be valuable friends who transcend time and space through music and make the ordinary daily lives of audiences and fans special anytime and anywhere.

# First meeting with TWS = Excited + Excited… First title song “첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아”
TWS presents its own genre “Boyhood Pop“, born from a clear and refreshing team identity. Childhood pop refers to music that evokes beautiful feelings in everyday life. The debut album “SPARKLING BLUE” is filled with sparkling and refreshing notes that follow the feelings of childhood pop. The excitement of the first meeting and the conversation with friends during breaks are impressive thanks to TWS’s natural and candid musical style.
“SPARKLING BLUE” contains five songs, including the title song “첫만남은 계획대로 되지 않아“, “Unplugged boy“, “First hooky“, “BFF” and “Oh Mymy: 7s“, which was pre-released on January 2.
The title song, “첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아”, tells the story of overcoming the vagueness encountered in the excitement of first meeting with the expectations for the bright days to come. It is interesting to express the boys’ cool first meeting with a spicy bubbly. The song is a hybrid pop genre with an exciting guitar and synth sound as well as intense drums, and the contrast between the lyrics and sound sources conveys the message of the song more intensely.
Created with the concept of an academy, the music video maximizes TWS’ refreshing and fresh sensibility. Dust in the white playground, a sunny classroom, a square desk, a green board and friends in space. We all experience ordinary but special moments where we fulfill our youth. TWS captures the bright moments of our colorful childhood against the backdrop of school, the space of youth.
The production of TWS’s debut album was led by master Han Sung Soo, who has produced albums for Seventeen, After School, Orange Caramel, Nu’est and Iz*one. A special person also joined TWS’s debut album, author Cheon Gye Young, who dominated the comic industry in the 1990s. Track 2 “Unplugged boy” has the same title as the popular work of Cheon Gye Young. With this, Cheon Gye Young provided the original cartoon “Unplugged boy” to the Weverse album cover design of TWS’ “SPARKLING BLUE“. This is the first time in 25 years that Cheon Gye Young has collaborated with a K-pop group since H.O.T.

# Firepower like the “Top Expectants 2024”… From pop-up stores to advertising models to the covers of foreign magazines
Even before its debut, TWS proved to be the “most anticipated star of the year” by collaborating with major brands, gracing the covers of famous foreign magazines and being selected as drink models. TWS operates a pop-up store called “TWS: THE MUSEUM VISITOR” at Hyundai Seoul on the 18th, called “MZ Generation Pop-up Holy Land” in cooperation with fashion brand The Museum Bitter.
They will also be on the cover of the most popular Japanese magazines, Ray and ViVi. Ray and ViVi are very well-known magazines in Japan, and their covers are mainly decorated by stars who enjoy great popularity there. For ViVi, you will be able to see TWS in March and April. The March issue will feature a sneak peek at photo shoots for TWS. In the April issue, TWS will feature a special edition cover, cover story and supplement. TWS is the first K-pop boy group to debut and become the main character of the magazine’s huge feature.
Added to all this is the fact that TWS was selected as a model for a popular soda with a strong brand position. They serve as models for all lines, including the original Lotte Chilsung Beverage Milkis products. It’s also very unusual that a K-pop group, who hasn’t even debuted, was chosen as a brand model, and you can guess how much the industry is interested in TWS.
TWS, armed with its outstanding skills, brilliant visuals and bright and refreshing sound as well as the firepower of 2024, is attracting keen attention for the new wind it will bring to the K-pop scene. TWS plans to start its activities today by hosting its first show “TWS Nice to Meet You“, which will be simulcast on the official YouTube channel of Mnet, M2 and Hybe Labels at 7 p.m. KST.
