Boy band MONSTA X leader SHOWNU has released a behind-the-scenes video for “Great Comet.”
Recently, a video showing SHOWNU practicing for the musical “Great Comet” was posted on MONSTA X‘s official YouTube channel.
SHOWNU, who participated in the dress rehearsal of his first musical “Great Comet“, appeared in the rehearsal room looking nervous. After warming up and getting rid of tension, SHOWNU sometimes sang confusing notes with the piano and showed off his practice of high notes. Before the presentation, SHOWNU, who practices whenever he has time, vowed, “I will do my best without making any mistakes today.“
Since then, SHOWNU has fully integrated himself into the musical, from the first performance of his role as “Anatol” to the choreography and acting of facial expressions. In the next issue, SHOWNU attracted attention by showing off his “Homme Fatale” charm as well as famous lines. In particular, SHOWNU performed well in collaboration with its seniors, demonstrating its method which was not difficult to distinguish from reality.
Even during a brief break, SHOWNU went over the disappointing parts through vocal practice and expressed his frustration about the part that bothered him the most, saying, “My body moves as I want, but I can’t not sing as I please.” He also gave himself 70 points and gave a humble score, showing confidence by saying, “It’s just different” about the difference between “Shownu and Anatol.“
SHOWNU showed concentration and continued the stage with a high-quality performance playing the violin in the second act. SHOWNU skillfully led the play with improvisations, playing musical instruments and perfectly assimilating facial expressions, acting and dancing. Finally, SHOWNU said, “I always collapse when I go home after preparing and practicing,” recounting his busy daily life with music practice and promising to show better performances, saying, “I will no more effort.”
SHOWNU even developed a choreography and violin fingering method that automatically plays whenever he sings. He also tried his best to perform the improved version of the song until the last number.
SHOWNU made his musical debut with stable and rich acting talents in the musical “Great Comet” held from March 26 to June 16, and will meet fans with various activities in the future.
