The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to raise awareness worldwide about copyright in choreographic works and is facilitating discussions on this topic by distributing the English edition of its guide on copyright protection.

Entitled “Guide to Copyright of Choreographic Works,” this guide consists of five chapters, each covering the definition of copyright, the authors of choreographic works and their rights, the procedures for exercising these rights, the procedure for registering copyrights, and the steps to obtain compensation in the event of infringement.
The Ministry of Culture has announced its intention to actively disseminate the English version of the guide at meetings of international organizations and global events to promote this policy.
As part of these efforts, the ministry will present the guide at the 46th meeting of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights of the World Intellectual Property Organization, scheduled for April 7-11 in Geneva, Switzerland, and will also discuss the guide’s main elements at meetings with key countries such as the United States, China, and Brazil.
The English edition of the “Guide to Copyright of Choreographic Works” is available on the official website of the Ministry of Culture (www.mcst.go.kr/english) and that of the Korean Copyright Commission (www.copyright.or.kr/eng).
