Cube Entertainment’s rookie boy group NOWZ officially kicked off its activities with a successful fan showcase to celebrate its comeback.
NOWZ (comprised of Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyun) held its fan showcase on July 9 at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, marking the release of its first mini-album, “IGNITION.” The event was hosted by YUQI of I-DLE, who also produced its pre-release single “FLY TO THE YOUTH (Feat. YUQI),” showing strong support for her direct juniors from the same agency.
The showcase kicked off with a powerful performance of “Problem child,” one of the most striking tracks on their new album, followed by a series of stages including the title track “Everglow,” a bold attempt in the rock genre, and “Fly to the youth (Feat. YUQI),” which completely captivated the fans in attendance.
Regarding the album, JINHYUK explained:
“This album reflects the identity and storyline of NOWZ. Each track has a different vibe, it’s like a box of gifts.”
HYEONBIN also shared:
“Since DAY_AND (our fandom name) already called us NOWZ a lot, the new name doesn’t feel strange,” expressing his thoughts on their rebranding to NOWZ.
YUQI’s participation was also a highlight. While hosting the showcase, she made a surprise appearance during the performance of “Fly to the youth” to sing her part live, creating perfect chemistry with NOWZ on stage. She added:
“Just like the DAY_AND fans, I and everyone at Cube have been eagerly waiting for NOWZ’s comeback. They worked so hard to prepare for it.”
Beyond the performances, NOWZ connected with fans through various segments, including “NOWZ Unzipped” where they shared behind-the-scenes stories from the album, “A Letter to the Youth” where they answered fans’ concerns, and “Right NOWZ,” a challenge corner to interact with fans. To close the event, they performed “Diary (DAY_AND),” their first fan song from the album, with tearful eyes as they expressed heartfelt thanks to those in attendance.
YEONWOO said:
“Thank you, DAY_AND, for being part of this page in our youth. It’s because of you that we can exist on stage.”
SIYUN added:
“Thank you to everyone who came despite the heat. We’ll keep showing you more of ourselves.”
YOON expressed his ambition:
“I’m excited for what lies ahead. I’ll work hard to become an even more amazing artist.”
Following this successful comeback showcase, NOWZ will officially begin its music show promotions on July 10 with its first performance of “Everglow” on M Countdown, marking the start of its promotional activities for their debut mini-album “IGNITION.”
