OX:N
OMEGA X‘s first sub-unit, OX:N, reveals its vision and plans in an intimate interview.

On June 20, 2025, the group OMEGA X, under the agency IPQ Entertainment, launched its first sub-unit, OX:N, with JAEHAN, XEN, JEHYUN, and YECHAN. The name OX:N is composed of “OX”, short for OMEGA X, and the Roman numeral “IV,” stylised as an N, to symbolize the unity of the four artists but also the unknown number, n, which signifies the infinite possibilities the members will explore as part of OX:N and OMEGA X as a whole. The first mini album, “N“, marks the beginning of a new, more intimate identity for the four members. To mark its debut, KSTATION TV participated in a round interview with several international media on July 2.
During the interview, the members discussed the creation of this sub-unit, its concept, its differences from OMEGA X, as well as the positive aspects and challenges of this new lineup, while also discussing the future.
For this first sub-unit, the members of OX:N wanted to offer a more mature and intimate aesthetic, drawing inspiration from several sources, including the series “Peaky Blinders“, according to JAEHAN. A more mature influence that is reflected in the reason for the birth of OX:N. While some members of OMEGA X left for military service, JAEHAN, XEN, JEHYUN, and YECHAN wanted to keep the group’s image alive while revealing a new, more personal side, while waiting to return to eleven on stage. But going from eleven to four was not easy. Asked by KSTATION TV about this, the group discussed the positive aspects and challenges of this new composition.
“One of the strengths is that when we’re moving or waiting, everything takes about half the time compared to when we’re moving as an 11-member group. We can also use our energy more efficiently. But one of the challenges we always think about during performances is how to fill the stage with just four members. We constantly think about ways to make our performances feel full and powerful with fewer people.” – YECHAN
“I feel a stronger sense of responsibility. When we had 11 members, there was this subtle feeling that someone else would cover a certain part if I didn’t. But now that it’s just the four of us in OX:N, it’s more like, “if I don’t do it, no one else will.” That shift has made me take more responsibility, and I think that mindset pushes us in a better direction.” – JAEHAN
“I actually feel a stronger sense of creative freedom. When there were 11 of us, I had to convince 10 other people to get on board with my ideas. But now, I only need to persuade three, so I think I’ve gained more freedom to try things I’ve always wanted to do in this new environment.“-XEN
Speaking of exchanging ideas, the members emphasised the importance of the discussions that shaped this album: “We want to show everyone the “feel good guys” side of us“, emphasises YECHAN. This gave birth to a more intimate album, centred around a theme: love. For JAEHAN, this message is essential: “I believe that in order to give love to others, you have to take care of and love yourself first.” A love for oneself but also towards the fans who have a big place in this album:
“I’ve always believed that we should never forget the gratitude we owe to our fans. Whenever I read their letters, those emotions hit me deeply. It reminds me that being loved like this is something I should never take for granted, and that I need to keep living with gratitude and always return this to them. I think “Cause of you” expresses that feeling perfectly“,
he says before adding, “I wanted to carry that joyful energy onto the stage as well, so compared to other songs, this one felt more fun and upbeat, in which fans can enjoy singing along with us.“
A love for fans that transcends borders. When mentioning their international fans, from India to England to France, the members made no secret of their desire to meet them as soon as possible. So, when we asked them about their upcoming projects, both in South Korea and abroad, the group revealed that they are currently discussing various opportunities.
“We recently had a lot of conversations about what’s ahead. For the rest of this year, we’re planning to do as many performances as we can to make our fans happy. We’re planning a tour, and I think we’ll get to visit countries we haven’t been to before. In Korea, the four of us will be working hard to prepare for the best performances.” – YECHAN
“We’re also going to start working on our next songs before it’s too late.” – XEN
Continuing with the spirit of creating together, the members shared how different the production process for this album was from their previous experiences. “The challenging part for me while preparing this album was definitely the recording, mixing, and mastering phase“, said XEN before adding, “but each time, we pushed ourselves to try just one more revision, to give it another shot. Looking back now, I think that tough period was actually when we grew the most.” This teamwork allowed the recording to be completed in just five days, a challenging but still fun experience for the members. An example of this new approach is the song “Let me in“. As JEHYUN points out, the song
“was originally a completely different song with a different BPM, genre, and overall sound. We ended up transforming it into something entirely new, and I think the conversations we had as members were the biggest source of inspiration throughout that process.“
Finally, this album was also an opportunity for the members to learn more about themselves. JAEHAN, accustomed to high notes, discovered a new vocal range: “For OX:N songs, I recorded across all ranges, including low, mid, and high, and I think I discovered a new side of my voice.” This introspection is shared by YECHAN, who spoke about the meaning of the song “Suit & tie“: “On the outside, as an idol and a singer, I have to show a cool and polished image, but on the inside, there are dreams, ambition, and desire. I want to shape those feelings more healthily and grow not just as an artist, but as a person too.” According to them, this album reflects this duality, allowing the audience to identify with each song.
With this first mini album, OX:N lays the foundations for a new adventure: a unit faithful to the soul of OMEGA X, but resolutely more intimate and mature. Far from having revealed the full extent of their abilities, the four members express their desire to explore new horizons, particularly the world of electronic music. Driven by the desire to create an identity that complements the energetic image of the main group, OX:N is gradually asserting its own identity. A promising sub-unit, one to watch closely!
Finally, OX:N released its first album, “N“, on June 20th.
