TAEIL
Singer TAEIL, a former member of NCT, has been handed a prison sentence in the first instance following accusations of sexual assault.

The 26th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court, presided over by Judge Lee Hyun‑Kyung, convicted TAEIL of aggravated sexual assault under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and immediately taken into custody.
His two accomplices, identified as Lee and Hong, also received three years and six months in prison and were detained. The court further mandated that they each complete a 40‑hour sexual offender treatment program.
Court Statement:
“The defendants engaged in repeated sexual acts with the victim, taking advantage of her incapacitation due to intoxication. This constitutes a deeply serious crime. The victim, a foreign tourist, endured severe trauma after being assaulted in an unfamiliar environment. However, mitigating factors include that this was their first criminal offense, they admitted to the acts, and the victim — having reached an agreement — does not wish to pursue further penalties.”
The crimes occurred on June 13 of last year around 2 AM, when TAEIL and his accomplices allegedly took an inebriated Chinese tourist, unable to move on her own, from an Itaewon club in Seoul to their residence via taxi, where they carried out a group sexual assault. TAEIL had been indicted without detention in March.
TAEIL debuted in 2016 with NCT’s first unit, NCT U, and later performed with NCT and NCT 127. Following this case, he was expelled from both NCT and SM Entertainment in October 2023.
