Singer G-DRAGON (Kwon Ji Yong) has been appointed as the official ambassador for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 Summit.
G-DRAGON’s agency, Galaxy Corporation, officially announced the news on July 23, stating that they will fully support the artist so he can effectively share his cultural influence and the future value of “enter-tech” (the convergence of entertainment and technology) with the world.
G-DRAGON will begin his ambassadorial activities with an official appointment ceremony. He is also set to participate in various APEC related events and appear in promotional content inspired by the organization’s key messages. The main promotional video will be produced by Dolphin Kidnappers, a creative production company, and will aim to deliver APEC’s message, “Connecting and Innovating Toward the World”, in a visually and emotionally compelling way.
The APEC 2025 Preparatory Committee stated regarding the appointment:
“G-DRAGON is a symbol of creativity and innovation. He embodies the core values of connectivity and sustainability that APEC seeks to promote both domestically and globally. His appointment, as a globally influential figure, is expected to significantly boost international interest in the APEC Summit.”
