JUNG DA KYUNG of Totalset (a label well-known in the trot genre) impresses with a flawless live performance.
JEONG DA KYUNG, an artist from the renowned trot-focused agency Totalset, showcased her vocal talents brilliantly during a live appearance.
On July 23, she was a guest on the SBS Love FM program “Yoo Min Sang’s Hungry Radio” (유민상의 배고픈 라디오), where she looked back on the “First Attachment” concert (첫정), which she recently completed successfully alongside fellow contestants from season 1 of Miss Trot.
“It’s already been six years since we first met. It was tough getting everyone back together, but we made it happen. Today, I feel much more comfortable as a singer, but this concert brought me back to my beginnings and helped me reconnect with the mindset I had back then,” she shared emotionally.
Talking about her new single “마중” (which means “encounter” or “welcome”), she revealed:
“This was a song I really wanted to release. I kept it safe and close to my heart, and now, after two years, it’s finally out. Appearing on various shows, I dreamed of being able to sing and dance to one of my own songs. And thanks to the support of the ‘Honsusangtae’ team (a comedy show), I even got to participate in writing the lyrics.”
She then performed “마중” live along with choreography, captivating the audience.
She also spoke about her special connection with Nam Jin, one of Korea’s most respected singers:
“When I was still a trainee, I worked backstage for Nam Jin’s national concert and also danced on stage because I studied traditional Korean dance,” she revealed, surprising everyone.
Finally, JUNG DA KYUNG shared some unexpected news:
“This is the first time I’m mentioning it publicly: I recorded a new song just yesterday. It’s called ‘혈당 스파이크’ (translated: Blood Sugar Spike) and I wrote it to spread positive energy and help promote the health of my fans. I personally took part in writing the lyrics,” she announced, unveiling an exciting new project in the works.
