The group NEWJEANS sees its track “Hype boy” selected by the American music magazine Rolling Stone as one of the “Greatest Songs of the 21st Century.”
On October 8 (local time), Rolling Stone published its list of the “250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far”, in which “Hype boy” ranks at number 206.
The magazine describes “Hype boy” as “a song that expresses the energy of youth culture and the thrills of unrequited love.” It adds: ““Hype boy” combines a fresh, modern sound with a retro touch. The five members harmonize beautifully while showcasing their individual vocal personalities in under three minutes.”
As the title of their first single, “Hype boy” blends Moombahton and electropop genres, offering a sound that is both refreshing and sophisticated. Since its release in August 2022, the track has immediately conquered national and international charts, creating a global phenomenon.
