A spectacular showdown between dancers is about to take place.
The event featuring 64 Korean dancers with strong personalities, “OLD & NEW”, will take place on October 19th at 7 PM KST at Seongam Art Hall, near Seonjeongneung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The event will also be broadcast live on TikTok and Douyin.
As explained by the organizing agency, the title “OLD & NEW” perfectly illustrates the concept: legendary South Korean dancers who have dominated global street dance competitions since the 2000s will compete on the same stage as dancers from the MZ generation.
The competition will follow the classic 1-on-1 battle format and include various dance styles such as waacking, popping, b-boying, and hip-hop. The live broadcast via TikTok and Douyin, which together reach nearly 2 billion users worldwide, will allow viewers to watch the event in 75 countries.
In&Choo, the dancers who co-designed and co-directed “OLD & NEW”, stated:
“Our dream is to create an event where the whole family can enjoy dance every week, a bit like the ‘National Singing Contest,’ and where the entire world can follow the dance battles live.”
