The group BTS was at the center of attention when RM criticized his agency.

On December 21, RM held a live broadcast on the fan community platform WEVERSE, stating: “I would like our company (HYBE) to show us a little more affection,” surprising fans.
During this broadcast, RM mentioned the group’s activity plans for next year, saying: “Let’s make 2026 the year of BTS. Something really big is coming.” J-HOPE added: “2026 is an important year for us” and commented: “I can’t believe 2025 is already over.”
During the live, when JIMIN said: “This time slot is the hardest,” RM insisted that HYBE should show a little more affection to BTS. JIN tried to calm things down by saying: “They already do a lot for us,” but RM replied: “I don’t know. I don’t say this kind of thing often, but I just want them to take a little better care of us.”
Previously, RM had already expressed his impatience for new activities. On the 16th, he said: “I really hate this end of the year. It’s too long. 2025 is boring to death. I’m going crazy, I really want to come back.” He added: “We still can’t say how much things have progressed. When will the agency announce the comeback? HYBE, hurry up and release something.”

On the 7th, RM surprised the ARMYs by even mentioning a possible disbandment of the group: “I have thought thousands of times about whether separating or suspending the group would be better. But we continue thanks to the love between members and respect for our fans.” He added: “Many ask why we did nothing in the second half of 2025. We didn’t want to waste time, and I also, after finishing my military service, wanted to be very active. There are reasons for not having activities in the second half, but I don’t have the right to reveal everything.” These statements suggest that there were tensions between the agency and the group.
These repeated statements by RM worried the ARMYs. Although the group’s full comeback is planned for next March, several romantic scandals involving members raise concerns that the group’s atmosphere may need renewal. Some wonder if the problems come from a lack of management by HYBE or from the members’ relaxation, but it is clear that to rise again on the global stage, the agency and members must act together.
Since their debut in June 2013, BTS has enjoyed massive worldwide popularity. In September 2023, the group signed a second contract with HYBE. Last June, SUGA completed his military service, completing that of all members, and a major world tour with the full lineup is scheduled for next March.
