HWANG MINHYUN
The singer and actor HWANG MINHYUN has finally returned to his fans.
HWANG MINHYUN completed his 1 year and 9 months of military service and launched his comeback via a live on WEVERSE on December 21. He stated:
“I thank the HWANGDOs (fandom name) who waited for me eagerly. From now on, we will never be separated, and I want to share many fun moments with you.”
Although HWANG MINHYUN admitted that “it’s still strange to stand in front of the camera,” he opened his heart and shared his accumulated experiences with his fans. He added: “These 1 year and 9 months were a necessary time for me. It allowed me to grow as a person and an artist.” He also opened an Advent calendar containing small gifts and filled his “To Do List” for this year, creating new memories with the fans.
There was even a surprise spoiler. HWANG MINHYUN hinted: “I want to create moments to meet the HWANGDOs, talk, and sing together. I cannot give more details at the moment, but you will hear news before the end of the year.” At the end of the live, he added:
“I will think a lot about how to thank those who waited for me. I will do my best so that HWANGDOs experience only happy moments.”
Debuting in 2012 as a member of NU‘EST, HWANG MINHYUN built his career as an “all-rounder” alternating between singing and acting. This year, he portrayed YUN GAMIN in the pre-produced TVING original Study Group, a character with a soft face but surprising combat skills, contributing to the success of the work. His performances ranging from intense action to fine emotional nuances were praised as a “life-like character.”
HWANG MINHYUN will also be the MC of “2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon MET” on December 31, marking the start of his resumed activities. Recognized for his mastery of the MC role during “2023 Gayo Daejejeon”, he will once again showcase his versatile charm through his humor and smooth stage presence.
