TWICE - CHAEYOUNG
CHAEYOUNG of TWICE revealed a photoshoot capturing her charisma on stage and her sincere musical story. From her impressions after finishing the world tour to her affection for her first solo album, she shared her most authentic thoughts.
CHAEYOUNG, who graced the August issue of the fashion magazine “Elle” in Korea, captivated eyes by displaying an even more mature atmosphere within a modern style. Her unique sense of freedom and urban vibe blended to perfect an unprecedented charm.
In the interview conducted alongside the photoshoot, she looked back on TWICE‘s sixth world tour, “THIS IS FOR”. Approaching the encore concert in Seoul, she stated:
“I am excited to meet domestic fans again after a long time. The process of preparing songs that we hadn’t shown on stage in a long time is also very fun.”
She confided that her view of shows had also changed over the course of the tour that spanned nearly a year. CHAEYOUNG revealed: “It often happens that arrangements that can only be heard in concert complete the atmosphere of the stage”, then: “I learned a lot about how to breathe and communicate with fans to make the show even more lively.”
In particular, she cited the unit stage “Takedown”, prepared with JEONGYEON and JIHYO, as one of the most memorable moments. She recalled that the passionate cheers from fans heard in concert venues in the United States and Europe were still very vivid in her memory.
She also expressed her affection for her first solo album “LIL FANTASY VOL.1”, released last year. CHAEYOUNG stated:
“It was a work in which I had invested a lot of time and effort, but I didn’t expect fans to notice that intention all the way through. I was grateful that the members and fans understood my sincerity.”
She also explained the reason why she had chosen a regular album. She emphasized: “Even if the opportunity to make the same choice presented itself again, I would make a regular album”, specifying: “I wanted to show a polished result rather than a work intended to reach a certain number of songs.”
CHAEYOUNG described her first solo album as her “introduction letter”. She conveyed that it was a work that captured most sincerely the kind of music she likes and the person she is, wishing to prove that idols can also show their own music and their own expression in various ways.
She also touched upon her dream of becoming a singer, which she has pursued since childhood. She shared her gratitude toward her current life by stating: “Dancing to music and having fans who love me for who I am is a great blessing.” Regarding her future solo activities, she sparked anticipation by adding: “I want to become an artist who continues to show different colors and new expressions.”
