Girl group LIGHTSUM is making a comeback with a digital remake single.
On January 8, CUBE ENTERTAINMENT officially unveiled the title and release date of the new digital single by the unit consisting of SANGAH, CHOWON, and JUHYEON, by releasing a teaser poster for the digital single “아름답고도 아프구나” through LIGHTSUM’s official SNS channels (Sangah, Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Juhyeon, Yujeong).
The poster depicts a tissue wrapped in plastic, over which white and blue paint appears to spread, evoking a winter-like sensitivity reminiscent of past memories. The remake title “아름답고도 아프구나” and its release date, January 15 at 6 PM KST, were also revealed, further heightening anticipation for the comeback.
This new digital single, marking LIGHTSUM’s very first unit activity, is a remake of “아름답고도 아프구나”, the title track from BTOB’s 2018 special album “HOUR MOMENT.” The original song, which expresses past happiness, the pain of separation, and the complex emotions of a new beginning, has been reinterpreted through LIGHTSUM’s own sensibility.
Carried by the distinctive vocal tones and well-balanced harmony of SANGAH, CHOWON, and JUHYEON, the new version adds a comforting warmth to the lyrical sensitivity of the original song and is expected to resonate deeply with listeners.
LIGHTSUM’s first unit, composed of SANGAH, CHOWON, and JUHYEON, will release the digital single “아름답고도 아프구나” on January 15 at 6 PM KST across all music platforms.
