A2O MAY
The group A2O MAY added a new “rookie” trophy during an award ceremony in China.

A2O MAY (Chenyu, Shijie, Quchang, Miche, Kat) won the “New Artist of the Year” award on January 17 in Beijing in the Music Business Industry Awards 2025–2026 (MBIA), hosted by the Chinese music business media outlet China Music Finance and co-presented with Weibo Music.
Through their agency A2O Entertainment, the group stated:
“It’s a great honor to receive this award. We sincerely thank producer Lee Soo Man as well as the entire team at A2O. This is our first award of the year, and it’s a victory we share with the MAYnia, our fandom. We will continue moving forward tirelessly while keeping in mind all the encouragement we have received.”
They added:
“At the beginning of this year and at this new starting point, we will do our best to grow even more and deliver even better music.”
This ceremony is one of the major distinctions in the Chinese music industry. Thanks to this award, A2O MAY confirms its status as an emerging artist recognized not only in China but also on the international stage.
With this victory, A2O MAY now totals four major “new artist” awards worldwide. The group had already been honored at the Weibo Music Awards 2025, the 2025 Asian Hall of Fame, and the Weibo Competition Night.
Last year, A2O MAY established itself in the global market with the tracks “Boss,” “B.B.B (Bigger Badder Better),” and its first EP album “PAPARAZZI ARRIVE.” The latter notably ranked No.1 on Mediabase’s weekly “Most Added” chart for U.S. TOP 40 Airplay, tying with Justin Bieber and drawing major attention.
The group also took part in the prestigious American event Jingle Ball, before holding their very first fan meeting in Shanghai, “MAYnia Arrive.” After opening 2026 with this award, A2O MAY’s upcoming activities are already generating strong anticipation.
