V01D - JUNG SISEOB
The five-member band V01D, preparing to debut, has released performance videos for each member.
On February 26, V01D unveiled visual clips reflecting the essence of the group, ahead of its music release and showcase scheduled for March. The videos, highlighting music, visuals, and performance, have generated high anticipation for the group’s debut.
The first performance video of JUNG SISEOB draws attention with the use of a slide bar at the start of the instrumental, producing a sound more unique than a typical guitar. After an intense fuzz section, the performance ends with heavy distortion over the last 16 bars, leaving a strong impression.
The performance of drummer SONG UCHAN is full of vitality. Starting from a deep-sounding floor tom, he moves to the ride cymbal, accelerates the tempo, and alternates patterns to maintain tension, finishing with toms and cymbals for perfect balance.
Bassist SHIN NOSUKE’s performance is also impressive. His playing includes numerous slap phrases, highlighting the characteristic groove of the bass. The repetition of certain sections hints at the stage energy SHIN NOSUKE will bring live.
Pianist KEVIN PARK’s performance begins as a calm monologue, with a lyrical and controlled melody on a grand piano. Wide voicings and long pedal resonance accentuate emptiness and quiet longing, resonating with V01D’s identity rooted in void.
KEVIN PARK’s performance, concluding with repeated intense chords, leaves an echo where nostalgia and faint hope coexist, ultimately returning to an emotionally charged silence.
Finally, the vocal video of JO JUYEON, released on the 24th, impresses with bold visuals. The four chains surrounding his body symbolize his connection to the other members. This bond, difficult to break, expresses responsibility rather than constraint, through the weight he bears and the motion of kneeling then raising his head, conveying emotional commitment to the group.
V01D will release a pre-release on March 3, ahead of its first mini-album on March 11, marking the official start of its activities.
