The singer AOORA has achieved a significant milestone in India’s mainstream music industry.

AOORA attended the “Mid-Day Showbiz Icons Awards 2026” held in Mumbai, India, on the 27th of last month, where he took home the award in the “Iconic Spiritual Song of the Year” category.
The track that earned him this distinction is his single “SHIVA SHIVAM”, released this past February. Rooted in a deep respect for and understanding of Indian culture, the song reinterprets Hindu mythology by harmoniously combining traditional Indian spiritual themes with a modern EDM and K-pop sound, earning immense love from the local public.
This recognition carries immense weight, moving beyond a simple appearance or passing internet buzz. It officially validates his musical accomplishments and influence within the Indian mainstream entertainment industry, which is notoriously difficult for foreign artists to break into. By continuously deploying his activities locally and acting as a cultural bridge between South Korea and India, AOORA plans to use this award to accelerate his trajectory as a global artist.
AOORA shared his heartfelt thoughts on the achievement:
“The love and inspiration I received from Indian fans and the local culture have been the biggest driving force in bringing this music to life. This award has a very special meaning for me. Moving forward, I want to keep connecting the sensibilities of Korea and India through music and communicate sincerely with even more people.”
In addition to his musical success, AOORA previously caught the attention of both political and cultural circles in April when he was invited to a prestigious state dinner hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu at the presidential palace in New Delhi.
