The singer KIM GUN MO returns today (1st) to the public in a completely new light.
KIM GUN MO will release his new single “어디쯤 가고 있을까” today (1st) at 6 PM KST via various online music sites.
This is his first official new song released to the world after exactly 10 years, since the publication in 2016 of his album “50” which celebrated the 25th anniversary of his debut.
The new song “어디쯤 가고 있을까” is a track that remakes the title song of the first album of the singer Jeon Young, released in 1977. While retaining as much as possible the lyrical melody of the original song, a minimalist arrangement reducing the composition of the instruments highlights even more the clean and deep voice characteristic of KIM GUN MO.
The most remarkable change in this new song is without a doubt “the instrument”. Leaving behind for a time the title of “KIM GUN MO at the piano” deeply rooted in the mind of the public, he stood in front of the microphone playing the acoustic guitar himself for the first time in his musical life.
This song is a track that KIM GUN MO sang countless times while dedicating himself alone to the practice of the guitar for a long period, and it contains intact the autobiographical confession of this time spent consoling and encouraging himself.
Faced with the rebirth of this masterpiece that crosses eras, the couple composed of the composer Lee Hyun Seop and the lyricist Lee Kyung Mi, original creators of the track, expressed immense joy by stating: “It’s like an unexpected gift.”
KIM GUN MO also shared his affectionate feelings toward the listeners who waited for him for a long time, stating before the release of the track: “As it’s the first song that I sing while playing the guitar, I hope that this will be the opportunity to show a “new KIM GUN MO” to many people.”
