In season 2 of “Brave Detectives: The Chat”, the whole truth about the murder case of a housewife is revealed.
In the 50th episode of the E Channel original web series “Brave Detectives: The Chat” season 2, broadcast on July 24 on the YouTube channel “형사들의 수다“, Kim Young Kwang appears as a special guest.

In the “News No Desk” section, we travel back to August 1977. The case presented that day is an event that occurred in a residential neighborhood of Gangnam in Seoul. The investigation begins when a man makes a report to the Nonhyeon police station saying: “The landlady is bleeding a lot.”
The reporter was the private tutor of the eldest child of the house where the incident occurred, and the crime scene was a two-story mansion located in Banpo-dong. The victim was the thirty-something wife of the house owner, and when they arrived on site, she was unfortunately already deceased. The owner couple was actually separated, and the wife was raising the children alone. At the time of the events, the other family members, with the exception of the wife, were returning from a trip to Jeju Island.
The victim was discovered in the master bedroom, covered with a duvet. Upon lifting the duvet, her face was covered with a towel and she was only wearing her lower underwear. The autopsy results confirmed 10 stab wounds with a sharp weapon, hand pressure marks on the neck, and blunt force marks on the nose. In particular, in the master bedroom, a skirt and a blouse presumed to belong to the victim were neatly folded, and there was no trace of forced undressing. No trace of ransacking the house was found either, but traces of forced opening of the vanity door were confirmed, adding to the mystery.
The husband, rushing in haste after learning the news concerning his wife, stated that the diamond ring and the Japanese-made wristwatch that his wife always wore had disappeared. The ring was worth approximately 600,000 won at the time, which would equivalent to more than 5.8 million won in current value.
Right next to the victim’s house was a stone carving workshop. The workshop owner reported that the day before the incident, in the afternoon, a man appearing to be in his thirties was continuously loitering around the house, and when he asked him who he was, he answered: “I am the second cousin of the person living in this house.” Upon this, the husband stated that his second cousin had recently asked him to lend him money, but that he had refused.
The detectives started investigating the owner’s cousin, and he stated that he heard from the victim’s former housekeeper, who had resigned a few months earlier, that “several men usually called the victim, and that she even argued with some of them.” He also reported the fact that the victim often frequented cabarets. The investigation team thus traced the cabarets that the victim often frequented to obtain statements from her acquaintances, and identified 6 influential men. However, while it took time to identify their identities, two reports were received by the investigation command center.
The first report was an anonymous phone call. It was a report telling them to look for a boss from Geumho-dong, asserting that after meeting the victim, his business had gone well and he had even bought a new car, suggesting that money problems were mixed between the two people, but there was no concrete proof.
Then, the second report came from the driver who worked for the victim. He stated that the boss of the Nonhyeon-dong flower shop was suspicious. He had gone four times to the flower shop with the victim, and when he asked her who it was, the victim claimed it was the husband of a friend. However, from the driver’s point of view, the relationship between the two people seemed excessively close.
The investigation results caused a shock by revealing that the flower shop boss was not the husband of the victim’s friend. Subsequently, the criminal shamelessly stated: “If I had not met that woman, it would not have happened like this”, and it is told that Kim Young Kwang, upon hearing this, got indignant saying: “I am angry and I want to punish him.” Who then is the criminal who savagely murdered the victim?
