LEE CHAN WON enriched the 15th anniversary special issue of “한국인의 밥상” with food and songs.

LEE CHAN WON appeared alongside Choi Soo Jong and chef Yoon Na Ra in the 1st part “Sarangbang guest and mother” and the 2nd part “Learning a table setting!” of the 15th anniversary special issue of “한국인의 밥상” on KBS 1TV broadcast on September 3 and 10, sharing Korean food and culture with foreign guests who came to Korea.
Declaring: ““한국인의 밥상” is my meal companion”, LEE CHAN WON revealed that he usually watches the show with pleasure, confiding: “I watch and rewatch while eating.” In particular, he revealed his special affection for “한국인의 밥상” by conveying: “I ordered after seeing the “Marsh snail” episode and I cooked daseolgi hangover soup.”
In the process of preparing the meal for foreign guests, LEE CHAN WON‘s cooking skills shone. When chef Yoon Na Ra placed a jeon, LEE CHAN WON added the garnish, naturally adapting their gestures and continuing to cook in an experienced manner, and chef Yoon Na Ra also complimented him: “I get along well in work with Chan Won.” When shaping the eomandu, seeing the mandu stuffing containing fish and cucumber, he also showed a scholarly aspect on food by saying: “Fish and cucumber used to go into Northern-style mandu.”
When he handed the mandu made with his own hands to the village elders, the elders instead conveyed their affection to him by sharing cucumber, doenjang, gochujang, and plum syrup with LEE CHAN WON. In response to this, LEE CHAN WON passionately sang “진또배기” on the spot, which the elders love, putting his grateful heart into it. Even when leaving the venue, he warmly concluded the meeting with the elders by saying: “Next time I come, I will sing more songs for you”, “Stay healthy”.
LEE CHAN WON‘s activity also shone during the dinner for foreign guests. Having prepared neobiani himself with chiksso prepared for the 15th anniversary, LEE CHAN WON showed special cooking skills by cooking by feel without separate measurements. Robert, who tasted this, sparked laughter by saying: “I want to marry LEE CHAN WON”, making everyone feel the enthusiastic reaction toward the neobiani made by LEE CHAN WON.
In the 2nd part “Learning a table setting!”, the face of LEE CHAN WON setting off to fish for gizzard shad with Hwang Jin Yi was portrayed. Explaining to Hwang Jin Yi, who is not very familiar with Korean culture, the meaning of the proverb in an easy-to-understand way by saying: “There is a saying that goes: “Even the daughter-in-law who left home returns at the smell of grilled gizzard shad in autumn””, LEE CHAN WON presented the culinary culture of Korea adapted to the level of guests for whom gizzard shad is unfamiliar, by showing himself the way to eat it.
Thus, in the 15th anniversary special issue of “한국인의 밥상”, LEE CHAN WON showed a presence that naturally connects food and people, presenting a face ranging from the avid viewer who usually watches the show with pleasure to the face of the one who cooks himself and conveys his heart through song.
