On March 22, 2017, Pledis Entertainment officially introduced group PRISTIN to the press.
Composed of 10 girls ranging from 16 to 22 years — NAYOUNG, ROA, YUHA, EUNWOO, RENA, KYULKYUNG, YEHANA, SUNGYEON, XIYEON and KYLA — group PRISTIN comes to greet us for its first mini-album, with a refreshing concept.
The group had already people talking about itself under the pre-debut name PLEDIS GIRLZ and also with the presence of many members on the show “PRODUCE 101, season 1“. A few weeks ago, the girls had also held a concert for their fans. But this time, it is officially and with their final name that they present themselves with their first mini-album: “HI! PRISTIN“.
During the Showcase, the new Pledis Entertainment group presents the main song of its album, “Wee Woo“, to which Sungyeon participated in writing. With a colorful performance, full of energy and charm, this title highlights the characters of each member. Then, the song “Black Widow“, which shows a darker side, with a more powerful choreography but, above all, a sexier aspect of the young women.
In the Q&A with the reporters, the group talked about its years of training, but also the Produce 101 Season1 experience for Nayoung and Kyulkyung, and Girl Spirit* for Sungyeon. Experiences that allowed them to gain more confidence before debuting with PRISTIN.
Sungyeon also opened up to the fact that she had grown up in the USA, and that her experience had been of great help to her when she worked on the writing of the album.
