Group DREAMCATCHER signs its return with a new album: “Dystopia: The Tree of Language“.
Composed of the following members, JIU, SUA, SIYEON, HANDONG, YOOHYEON, DAMI and GAHYEON, the group debuted in 2017 under Happy Face Entertainment. The young girls return with a complete album of fourteen titles to celebrate their three years of career. During a closed circle interview, the young women indulge in KSTATION TV.
DREAMCATCHER wants above all in this new album to tell a new story, while adopting the style that has been faithful to them since their debuts. They are eager to unveil this new story by thanking the fans who have waited for them so far.
“This new album is called “Dystopia”. In this album we are talking about a white tree that brings people together. This tree is the key element of this album, lost in the universe of dreams. ” – JIU.
The young girls think that the wait for this comeback must be greater than for the previous comebacks. This comeback reveals more confidence on the part of the members than so far, they have worked with ardor and passion for this new story, always in the world of fantasy, and especially hope that fans will like this album.
SIYEON particularly recommends the title “Paradise“, which closes the album, in which she participated in the production. For SUA, anyone can identify with the songs on this album, especially since it combines both metal and electro tracks.

This album is also a source of discovery for young women, although in some aspects this comeback can be difficult, especially for the choreography of the main title, they also greatly appreciated working on the preparation of it and are satisfied with the securities. Some tracks are not yet finalized, like “Red Sun“, and will be released on Friday. The group must therefore still work to complete this album.
Four of the members, JIU, SIYEON, YOOHYEON and DAMI participated in the writing of the title “Jazz Bar“, title speaking of the love which one can feel when one falls in excitement in front of one of his customers in a bar, in a jazzy atmosphere, as its name suggests. DAMI, who also participated in the title “Black Or White” has more affection for this song which is a little more pop, as well as JIU, SUA and SIYEON.
While DREAMCATCHER is making a comeback at the same time as other popular girlsbands, like IZ*ONE, the members are confident of their potential to stand out thanks to their powerful and unusual concept for the pop-Korean scene. Even if their style is more metal oriented, their songs can sometimes touch fans with the sweetness of their ballads or the sincerity of their lyrics.
« We all want to have our own songs solo because even if we perform in the same group, we have sometimes different musical identities and want to try different concepts, which we do from time to time during fanmeeting by singing rather sexy songs » – YOOHYEON
JIU also likes sensual but also acoustic songs. SIYEON, who has already been able to repeatedly prove her vocal performances with the help of covers, would like to be able to sing soundtracks of films or dramas in the style of their title “Paradise“, a desire which she expresses with fervor. For GAHYEON, the cutie-sexy concept attracts him more. Finally DAMI indulges in her desire to try himself in ballads or in other jazzy titles.
Some members also express their desire to one day be able to perform some of their songs that they have so far been unable to present on stage. Nevertheless, they are satisfied with the advancement of their career which seems to be in continuous progress since their beginnings. They are therefore very grateful to their fans for their unfailing support. They are also aware that their dark style has made them easier to spot in the Kpop world, especially internationally, and are happy with the voice they take.
For this comeback, they surrounded themselves with many people to prepare all the tracks of this album and the performances attached to it. However, during the preparation of this one, they wanted to stay in contact with their fans thanks in particular to the V Live application. To be closer to the Insomnias, they plan to go to Japan in three weeks for their Japanese comeback.
While the MV is not yet ready to be broadcast, at the time of our meeting, the group then decides to present the dance studio version of their song “Scream“, title song of this album. The choreography wants to be precise and all in finesse but also poetic for this comeback which wishes to “make us shout”. The dance can be difficult for the members but their hard work is rewarded with a rendering which will undoubtedly please their fans.
Returning to their favorite track, discussed earlier, YOOHYEON and GAHYEON choose “In the frozen” which they find perfect to listen to in winter while all the other members designate “Black Or White“.
« Originally “SAHARA” was to be the title song of our album. We hope to be able to sing it at concerts in the future, because they give off an atmosphere similar to that of “Scream”. » – SIYEON
The latter then describes her favorite voices in the group, designating YOOHYEON who has a favorable voice for a rainy day and GAHYEON whose timbre would make one think of red wine. Then speaking of her, it is under the laughter of the other members that she describes herself as a chameleon, the other girls complaining that SIYEON chooses the best quality to describe herself.
For the teaser of their comeback representing a video of drawings made in the sand, the idea came from SUA who, one day while drawing, suggested a teaser drawn to be original. It also reveals that the inspiration for their new title, and in particular the aura they wish to release during their performance, is drawn from the artist Lady Gaga. Finally, it is with sadness that YOOHYEON expresses her desire to carry out a world tour and also to have vacations, which they have not had since their beginnings. This is why fanmeetings taking place at parties like Christmas or Halloween are their favorites because they can have fun and party with their fans while disguising themselves and joking with each other.
