Before their debuts, BTOB should have been… A rock band !
While they are well known for they KPOP and KBALLAD music, BTOB originally wanted to make their debuts as a rock band.
It’s in the Korean TV Show POINT OF OMNISCIENT that the Melodies (BTOB fandom name) learned that the band they love so much should have had been very different. The Show followed the day of the leader of the band SEO EUN KWANG who was participating. While the members YOOK SUNG JAE and LIM HYUN SIK met up with their leader for a last diner before they enlist, fans have got surprised to learn, from the Maknae (youngest member) YOOK SUNG JAE himself, that the group wanted, originally, to make their debuts as a Rockband. In the beginning, the name BTOB should have meant BORN TO BAND (instead of BORN TO BEAT).
While they have been looking for their own style for a long time, they had chosen Rock. But, at the same time they wanted to make their debuts, the KPOP/ROCK band CNBlue, started their career in 2009. The 7 members of BTOB, disappointed, took some more time to think and practice before they decide to start the career we now know.
We knew we had no chance since they were so handsome !
For a while, BTOB‘s members practised several types of music to find their own way. “We tried all music styles. We even did a capella. […] We did a bit of everything. […] But we didn’t loose hope and we endured everything that brought us success. We wouldn’t be here if things were different”.
It’s in that time that all BTOB‘s members did practice a lot of different styles and became the multitalented artists we now know.
