YG Entertainment‘s group TREASURE is already gaining popularity in Japan, with its official debut there on March 31st.

According to YG Entertainment on March 10th, a large poster featuring the faces of 12 TREASURE members decorated the exterior wall of Shibuya 109 in Tokyo, Japan. It stands in the streets like these fashion-conscious young people, on a symbolic building at the center of fashion. Much like K-pop rookies.
The expectations of Japanese fans for TREASURE can be confirmed by objective figures. The Japanese versions of TREASURE’s four songs, “Boy“, “I love you“, “MMM” and “My treasure“, were released the same day as a surprise, and the response was explosive.

In particular, “Boy” topped the real-time charts of Line Music, Japan’s largest music streaming site, an hour after its release. In another major ranking, Rakuten Music, “Boy” also placed second after iKON’s “Why Why Why”, competing with his agency’s senior group.
Other songs like “Boy” are popular. “My treasure” placed fourth on Line Music, “I love you” placed fifth and “MMM” placed sixth, realizing the terrifying rise of TREASURE.
TREASURE, which debuted in August of last year and has been very active, has achieved remarkable results with a total of over one million copies of the “THE FIRST STEP” series album. Of these sales, Japan accounted for 26% of the market share, as did Korea.

In addition to TREASURE’s exceptional musical abilities, four out of 12 members are from Japan, YOSHI, MASHIHO, ASAHI and HARUTO. Since their popularity is firmly rooted in Korea, it has spread to Japan, the world’s second largest music market and neighboring country at the same time, their growth is expected to be even more explosive in the future.
TREASURE will launch a full-fledged promotion for its debut on March 31st, including the opening of a pop-up store in Shibuya 109 on March 12th.
