JACKSON WANG: Newly appointed as FENDI Menswear Spokesperson in Greater China

JACKSON WANG becomes FENDI’s Spokesperson for its Men’s Collection in Greater China.

On June 1st, 2021, JACKSON WANG‘s appointment as FENDI Men’s Collection Spokesperson in Greater China was made official.

With a market totalling RMB 346bn in 2020, China has become the largest consumer for luxury goods in the world. Brands on the territory benefit from an exponential growth year over year (+48% YoY in 2020 according to Bain & Company), but they also have to redouble their efforts as they are challenged by increasingly demanding customers. They have been drawing on their creativity to maintain their attractiveness with numerous pop-up stores in shopping malls and partnerships with great Chinese celebrities. While this is a widespread strategy for brands all around the world, the level of the market’s growth in China is such that these partnerships are associated with a particular significance. Namely, the status of spokesperson for a brand is higher than the status of ambassador and serves as a testimony for celebrities’ influence in the region.

However, JACKSON‘s closeness with FENDI isn’t new: with his single “Fendiman” in 2018, his velvet capsule collection FENDI x Jackson Wang in 2019 and his numerous campaigns as the brand’s ambassador, this new title only furthers their proximity. So, he showed up as FENDI Men’s Collection Spokesperson for the first time at the brand’s Summer Vertigo pop-up store opening at Shanghai’s IAPM shopping mall.

JACKSON WANG, initally known as a singer, also created his own brand TEAM WANG DESIGN that offers simple and sophisticated pieces as well as limited editions that he calls sparkles. His latest collection is a velvet one that can be found on his website here.
