The group CLASS:Y from the M25 makes its debut today with a mini-album entitled “CLASS IS OVER“.
Composed of members HYUNGSEO, CHAEWON, HYEJU, RIWON, JIMIN, BOEUN and SEONYOU, it is during a showcase held in Seoul that the group presents for the first time its 1st mini-album, carried by the song “Shut down“. The showcase begins with a photo session so that the journalists discover the young women one by one, then the latter sit down to discuss these long-awaited debuts.
First of all, the name of the album, “CLASS IS OVER” describes a revival, something thrilling happening at the end of classes. This title refers directly to the name of the group, CLASS:Y, the “Y” coming from the word “why”, asking the question “Why don’t we enjoy same same but different music of CLASSY?“. Moreover, this group may be familiar to you since it was formed following a survival that was broadcast on the MTBC channel; “My teenage girl“. The group is also led by a Japanese company for its future promotions on the Japanese island. With the results of the survival having been announced on February 27, it will not have taken much time for the seven young people before their debut.

Without spreading out further, the young singers perform the title marking their debut, “Shut down“. The dance is dynamic, and each member seems to have their “finest moment” in the song. Officially, their debut is tomorrow, so the clip is not playing during the showcase, in order to attract more attention. JIMIN then describes himself as the visual of the group, and declares to be 1m72 tall, and hopes not to continue growing. HYEJU then describes herself as the main dancer of the group, and says she really appreciates the choreography of “Shut down“. Then, RIWON defines herself as the false maknae, because she has a cute face as if she were the youngest in the group. BOEUN wants to become a “global idol”, CHAEWON is proud to present herself as the main singer of the group, with a rabbit physique. Finally, SEONYOU is the real maknae of the group, with the face of a hamster and occupying the role of rapper, and HYUNGSEO is the “mom” of the group.

After introducing themselves individually, the young women return to the album, featuring five songs; “Up”, “Shut down”, “Tell me one more time”, “Super cool”, and “Feeling so good”. They claim to have had a lot of fun singing these songs, corresponding to their style. HYUNGSEO says they selected the track “Shut down” as the title track because it conveyed the dearest message to the members. However, they consider all tracks to be title songs in their own right. As for the clip, they had a lot of fun, but were also scared because there are zombies in it. JIMIN even claims to be afraid of zombies since the famous movie “Train to Busan”. Regarding the objectives to be achieved, CLASS:Y wishes to stand on international stages to show what it is capable of.
While preparing for their debut, the members received a lot of outside support, including coffee trucks delivered to them. They therefore hope that these people are proud of them today. They wanted to offer a dynamic and charismatic performance, in order to show their singing and dancing skills, but also the presence they have on stage. They then cite their role models in the music industry, Blackpink, IU and Taeyeon are selected. It is all the more important for them to prove that their debut did not come too early, and that they have “what it takes” to become idols worthy of the name.

CLASS:Y it’s still hard to realize making its debut, like he’s still going on the show. Young people live in a waking dream; they say, and are very impatient to conquer the world. The ultimate goal is to enter the Billboard music chart, which has become a criterion of success for many new groups. HYUNGSEO adds that they want to win the title of “best female group in Korea”. SEONYOU would like to thank her CEO for choosing such a pretty hair color, and can’t wait to discover its future looks.
