“Queendom Puzzle” opens the start of the competition with a double cue song. Regarding the background of planning the unusual double-signal song, “Queendom Puzzle” said, “As a large number of K-POP female artists, solo performers, we have prepared two songs to show the combination and scene of various members.”
The signal song will be released in a total of four music and stage versions. Two teams split for a single song and put together a performance that captures different charms. As a result, viewers will be able to enjoy two versions of the sound source and scene per song.
“Queendom Puzzle” plans to sequentially release special performance videos of the hit song during Mnet’s “M Countdown” on May 18 and 25. The official music will be available on domestic and overseas music sites at 6 p.m. KST on the same day.
First of all, the hit song “SNAP” is a hip-hop-based song with appealing vocals and fancy beats that grab listeners’ ears right from the intro. There are many musically interesting components, so listeners will be able to enjoy the pleasure they are looking for.
The song is already catching the attention of K-POP listeners, with composer Ryan Jeon, who has composed hit songs for major Korean stars such as IU, NCT and IVE, and star lyricist Kim Eanna, who has worked with Ive, Sung Si Kyung and Park Hyo-shin. In addition, composers who have participated in works, such as Seulgi’s “Bad boy“, Le Sserafim’s “No Celestial” and Txt’s “Sugar rush ride“, have come together to amplify expectations.
Another highlight song, “Charismatic”, is a rhythmic dance song with the ambition to capture people’s hearts with a confident and charismatic appearance, and the repeated ethnic flute sound from the intro is attractive. In particular, the chorus is meant to give listeners a special liveliness by adding a wider sound.
The song, which contains positive energy, raises expectations with composer Ilba Dimberg, who has worked on “Hype boy“, “Omg”, “Ditto” by Newjeans and “Forever 1” by Girls’ Generation. Moreover, it was supported by a collaboration of trustworthy producers such as Jo Mi-shell, who worked with top artists in Korea such as Baekhyun, Onew, and Kai.
Choi Young Joon and Lachika will serve as performance directors. Choi Young Joon is a choreographer who created the performances of K-pop artists such as Seventeen, Bts, and Twice, and was responsible for directing the hit song “SNAP.” Dance team Lachika, who showed choreography that fully utilizes the charm of a girl group while leading performances for Chungha, Twice, and Ive, will perform a special stage in charge of performance direction for “Charismatic.”
