Nine years after SEVENTEEN, who is the newest group of boys from PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT?
The brand new group of PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT, TWS, makes its debut on Monday, January 22, with a first mini-album called «SPARKING BLUE».
Composed of members SHINYU, DOHOON, YOUNGJAE, HANJIN, JIHOON, KYUNGMIN, the group first released a single, «Oh mymy : 7s» to draw attention to this first album. The name TWS is an acronym, meaning “Twenty four seven With uS”. This mini-album has five tracks, to discover the group’s universe; «첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아», «Unplugged boy», «hooky first», «BFF» and the pre-release title «Mymy: 7s».
The showcase begins with a photo shoot, and is immediately followed by the performance of the title song «첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아». First group of boys to make its debut under the agency PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT since SEVENTEEN, it is with the greatest interest that TWS is observed by the journalists who came to attend the showcase, but also by those who could not, and online assistant via a live replay. The title song clip was also broadcast, portraying the singers as what they are: simple teenagers going to high school.
The performance is most successful thanks to the lights placed in the room, as well as the bubbles filling the entire surrounding space. Quickly, the band goes back on stage to present its first mini-album, and share its impressions for this great day. The first member, YOUNGJAE, shares his passion for dance since the age of nine, and says that these beginnings are a dream come true. JIHOON chooses to thank the reporters who have come, DOHOON expresses its strong desire to succeed, and to continue working hard. Finally, SHINYU states that they will do their best to become the best possible group.

The group also expresses its gratitude for having started at PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT, offering it undeniable visibility thanks to the great popularity of other groups in the agency, such as SEVENTEEN. Conscious of the looks on them, the boys are stressed, but prefer to focus on the joy they feel when making their debut. They also say that they have a lot of energy to spare, and things to show, and to prove their words, they will perform in a few moments «Oh mymy: 7s».
According to TWS, its music has the particularity that it can be heard at any time, in any place, without getting tired of it, and even more, without being forgotten. Regarding the key point of the title song, SHINYU highlights the refreshing side of the song, and the «first meeting» aspect, as the first moment when the fans discovered the band. The members then show some dance steps, but it is already time for the second performance.
The MC says he even heard that the stress of the members was so important that they almost cried, but that they had managed to pull themselves together to offer quality performance today. A clip is then broadcast to take us behind the scenes of their lives as trainees, and their emotions as they approach the beginning. We see the boys happy, united, training or spending time together, and supporting each other. We also discover SEVENTEEN, there to do the same.
The video of «Oh mymy: 7s» is broadcast, finding TWS in a school atmosphere once again, traveling in Korea, France or the United States. After this second performance, a new medley video is presented to familiarize with the songs of the album. Then the group sits down to answer questions from the reporters. For this second performance, the band changed outfits for more hip-hop and casual clothes. Then it is time to talk to the journalists who were unable to travel today.

If they had to select a group from another agency, their choice would be SHINee. Regarding the involvement of SEVENTEEN in the preparation of their debut, TWS replies that the group gave them a lot of advice, but also offered them many foods, including beef. The questions came mainly from foreign media, with the group receiving questions from Japan, the Philippines, and the United States from Billboard. The latter asks what the band’s goal is, and TWS replies that it is to meet its fans around the world.
By its naturalness and spontaneity, TWS seems to charm the reporters present in the room, despite its answers and speeches sometimes prepared. The singers also talk about the other songs on the album, and select «Unplugged boy» as a track they particularly like. Another question then focuses on the involvement of BANG PD, founder of BIGHIT ENTERTAINMENT and HYBE. He gave them as much advice as SEVENTEEN, and was kind to them.
With these last words, the group concludes the showcase, YOUNGJAE thanking in Japanese, JIHOON in English, HANJIN in Chinese, and SHINYU, as the leader, in Korean.
