SEUNGHAN
SEUNGHAN, who left the group RIIZE due to controversy over his personal life, will make his solo debut in the second half of next year.

“SEUNGHAN is preparing to debut as a solo artist in the second half of 2025. To this end, we are continuing to train with various supports such as systematic training, production, and management necessary for a solo debut,” SM Entertainment’s agency stated on November 15.
“We will provide updates on SEUNGHAN through the official SNS accounts opened today. SEUNGHAN wants to show a new side of himself as a solo artist and spread his talent and dreams. Please keep an eye on him and give him lots of attention and support,” they said.
SEUNGHAN, who debuted as part of the group “RIIZE” in September last year, has been embroiled in a controversy related to his personal life. He was suspended indefinitely from activities with the team in November of the same year after videos and photos of him taken as a trainee circulated online.
SM Entertainment announced SEUNGHAN’s return to the group last month, but a section of fans protested by sending funeral wreaths to the SM Entertainment office.
In response, SEUNGHAN made an announcement to withdraw from RIIZE just two days after announcing his return. With SEUNGHAN’s withdrawal, RIIZE was reorganized into a six-member group.
In a handwritten letter, SEUNGHAN stated, “I think it’s the right way for everyone that I leave the group. I don’t want to cause more confusion and harm to the fans, I don’t want to cause more harm to the members, I don’t want to cause more harm to the company.”
Another section of fans, both in Korea and internationally, launched a large boycott, in order to have SEUNGHAN rejoin the group, considering that he suffered an attack on human dignity. It is across the world that media no longer give news about RIIZE, online and offline stores have decided to no longer restock RIIZE concert products, fans in large numbers have decided to “unfollow” RIIZE’s SNS accounts. The slogan “RIIZE is 7” is regularly published, commented on social networks and chanted during concerts or festivals before or after the appearance of RIIZE members.
To this day SM Entertainment is burying its head in the sand and hoping that fans will get tired of it, so that things will settle down.
