THE BOYZ will begin its activities by signing an exclusive contract with One Hundred.
On November 15, One Hundred announced the signing of the contract with THE BOYZ and stated,
“We will spare no support so that we can fully develop individual abilities as well as group activities.”
In particular, One Hundred stated, “It was good to see all the members trying to transfer together while discussing with the members individually,” adding, “We hope that we can create a new chapter of THE BOYZ members that shows the best teamwork.“
The news of THE BOYZ‘s transfer came out in September. It was reported that they were looking for a new agency before their contract with IST Entertainment, the original agency, expired. In particular, THE BOYZ attracted attention because it is known that the 11 members are looking for a company to transfer with.
In the case of THE BOYZ, who are already in their seventh year since their debut, they chose the difficult card of transferring all the members at a time when their activities could be interrupted or they could go their own way. In this context, signing a contract with One Hundred was considered an unusual move in the music industry.
However, it is uncertain whether the group’s name can continue to be used as THE BOYZ‘s trademark rights belong to its agency IST Entertainment. Currently, the two parties have reportedly just started negotiations on transferring the group’s name.
THE BOYZ, who chose to transfer all of its members, will begin its activities as a member of One Hundred in mid-December when its exclusive contract with its former agency expires.
Meanwhile, THE BOYZ debuted in 2017 and appeared on Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom” in 2020 to seriously expand its fandom. In October, they released their ninth mini album, Dohwaseon, and introduced their activities.
One Hundred, which THE BOYZ signed an exclusive contract with this time, is a global production company founded by MC Mong, which includes Big Planet Made Entertainment, INB100, and Million Market.
