Netflix’s “SQUID GAME” Season 3 has unveiled its main trailer along with a second set of 15 promotional stills, heightening the anticipation surrounding its return.

Season 3 of SQUID GAME ramps up excitement with the release of this trailer and new images. This season follows GIHUN, who re-enters the game with his own personal goal, only to lose his best friend; the Front Man, who has infiltrated the game while concealing his identity; and finally, the ultimate fate of the players who survived the previous cruel games.
The main trailer opens with a chilling twist on a familiar children’s rhyme — “Knock knock, who’s there? It’s a child!” — setting the tone as Young Hee, the giant doll, reappears in the arena. Terrified players are shown standing behind her flowery-patterned legs, adding a disturbing contrast to the scene.
Signature visuals evoking childlike innocence — a staple of SQUID GAME — are once again transformed into haunting settings where survival is on the line. This stark contrast raises questions about how this unsettling aesthetic will evolve in Season 3.
We see GIHUN (Lee Jung Jae), alive but unwillingly so, exploding with rage: “Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you let me live?” — a raw expression of guilt after losing his friend Jun Bae (Lee Seo-hwan) during their failed rebellion.
Meanwhile, the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun) — now overseeing the game after once participating under the alias Young Il — watches GIHUN closely, prompting questions about how he will influence the outcome. New settings, such as a glowing starlit alley and a jump rope challenge, hint at fresh, imaginative, and shocking games to come — for both players and viewers.
As the stakes grow higher, intense battles for survival unfold. The trailer features desperate players like Geum Ja (Kang Ae-Shim) tearfully begging for the game to stop, and Myeong Gi (Im Si Wan) scolding Jun Hee (Jo Yoori): “So what’s your plan, just sit here and die?” We also see GIHUN donning his suit once again, wearing the number 456, as the Front Man, finally revealing his face, asks him: “Number 456, do you still believe in people?” Their ultimate showdown seems inevitable — and highly anticipated.
The promotional stills further deepen the tension, showing the survivors desperately fighting to stay alive. GIHUN, sharply dressed and staring intently, leaves viewers wondering if he’ll be the one to finally bring the system down. The Front Man, also in a suit and now bearing the number 132, stirs curiosity with hints of a new storyline.
The images also spotlight other survivors — Myung Gi, Dae Ho (Kang Haneul), Hyun Joo (Park Sung Hoon), Yong Sik (Yang Dong Geun), Geum Ja, Jun Hee, and Nam Gyu (Noh Jaewon) — each displaying a range of emotions in their own desperate circumstances. Notably, Kyung Seok (Lee Jin Wook) is shown clutching his stomach and facing off with a Pink Guard, sparking questions about his fate after a crushed rebellion.
Jun Ho (Wi Hajun) is seen examining a game invitation card marked with the iconic “○△□” symbols — raising the possibility that he may uncover a crucial clue about the game.
In another striking image, Noeul (Park Gyu Young) is seen aiming a gun after removing a Pink Guard’s mask — a strong sign that she, too, will be swept into a wave of unpredictable events. Finally, a guard standing at the arena entrance alongside the massive figure of Young-hee sets the stage for even more intense and never-before-seen games.
Season 3 of “SQUID GAME”, which will reveal the final chapter of this globally acclaimed series, will premiere Friday, June 27, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
