On July 29, fashion photos of CHAEYOUNG from FROMIS_9 for the August issue of Men Noblesse magazine were unveiled.
The photoshoot captures CHAEYOUNG’s inner depth and growing maturity as she returned to the stage following a break. In the accompanying interview, she spoke sincerely about her passion for music, her fellow members, and the fans.
CHAEYOUNG recently reunited with fans through the release of the group’s 6th EP, “FROM OUR 20’s”. The title track, “Like you better,“ received strong reactions both domestically and internationally, even reaching No. 1 on music charts, marking a significant achievement.
Speaking about the experience, she said: “At first, I didn’t have high expectations and stayed calm, but after seeing the fans’ response, my heart filled with emotion. One of the members told me, ‘This is just the beginning. The real part starts now.’ Those words gave me even stronger determination.”
She also expressed her excitement for the group’s first world tour, “NOW TOMORROW.”, which kicks off in Seoul from August 8 to 10. She shared: “It’s a new challenge. Just getting to meet fans in person feels like a meaningful journey.”
Despite the physical exhaustion from tour preparations, she added: “Even if I’m physically tired, my desire to thank the fans who waited is even stronger,” showcasing her deep sense of responsibility. CHAEYOUNG also spoke warmly about the track “Merry go round” from the album: “It tells a story that spins like a carousel and eventually comes back to the fans, which really touched me. It’s a song that reminds us why we’re able to be here again.”
She shared a touching anecdote from a fan: “A fan once told me, ‘Thanks to you, my day became a happy one,’ and it instantly washed away my feelings of helplessness.” When it comes to expressing emotions on stage, she added: “If I can be a source of comfort to someone, that’s the most meaningful thing of all.”
Talking about her close bond with the members she spends so much time with, she said: “We’re like family now. We understand each other without even speaking. Every time I sing the line ‘Even if we’re hurt, we won’t let go of this moment’ in ‘Like you better,’ I get emotional.” She also revealed they often tell each other: “Let’s go all the way together.”
She recalled her dream of performing since childhood: “When I was a trainee, I dreamed of becoming an idol just by watching stage performances. Now I fully embrace the reality. Even if I were to be born again, I would still choose to be a singer.”
She also declared: “I don’t want to rest just yet. On the contrary, I want to show you even more.” She hinted at another comeback after the tour, radiating her usual energy and passion. When asked to recall a memorable moment from the “FROM OUR 20’s” era, she replied: “The times when the members laughed and made noise in the rehearsal room—those raw, unfiltered moments. The sweat and laughter behind the scenes will probably stay with me for a long time.”
