PHYSICAL: 100, the NETFLIX variety show, is now moving from the national stage to the international arena. Building on the success of previous seasons with domestic and international fans, the producers of PHYSICAL have invited athletes from seven Asian countries and Australia for this expanded edition, presenting a country-based competition.
The new NETFLIX original series, “PHYSICAL: ASIA”, released on October 28, features 48 legendary competitors, six from each country: Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Turkey, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia, facing off in intense physical challenges.
Going beyond simple individual duels, this season introduces rivalry between nations, bringing renewed tension and enjoyment compared to previous seasons. Since its debut in 2023, “PHYSICAL: 100” has captivated viewers with bold challenges combining physical abilities and strategic mindset. In previous national editions, the combination of strength, strategy, and teamwork determined the outcome of competitions. In this global version, the element of country-based competition adds an extra narrative layer, while retaining the entertaining essence of the series and highlighting the cultural and individual traits of the Asian participants.
Season 1 of “PHYSICAL: 100” set a historic record by becoming the first Korean show to reach number 1 on the NETFLIX GLOBAL TOP 10 TV SHOWS (NON-ENGLISH) chart, ranking in the top 10 in 82 countries, with a total of 192.63 million hours viewed over six weeks. The second season also secured the number one spot in the same category for the second consecutive year. At the time of the first season’s broadcast, producer JANG HOGI PD expressed his desire to develop the series internationally, a goal now realized with this project.
This season is particularly distinguished by the diversity of the participants’ backgrounds and stories. Competitors representing their countries do more than face physical tests: they approach challenges in their own way, showcasing national pride. The production ensured that each participant’s personality and story are conveyed to viewers in this international expansion.
New challenges and devices, never seen in previous seasons, have been added.
