HYUK of VIXX has asserted his striking presence as a music video director.
A versatile artist, singer, and actor, HYUK directed the music video for the duo PARK JAEJUNG and SULLYOON of NMIXX titled “지금 이대로만”, released last week. The video immediately sparked strong reactions on YouTube and social media, and its cinematic aesthetic highlighted the performers’ subtle emotions, leading to comments such as “It feels like watching a melodrama.”
At the request of his childhood friend born in 1995, PARK JAEJUNG, HYUK agreed to direct the video. With his project crew Ad.A, he became deeply involved from the conceptual stage, increasing the overall level of finish.
PARK JAEJUNG recently praised HYUK’s artistic sense during a radio show: “He’s someone who loves to realize what he imagines.” He recounted discovering a professional side of HYUK, away from the stage, wearing a hoodie and carrying a radio while orchestrating the music video production.
“지금 이대로만” reunites PARK JAEJUNG and PARK HYUN JOONG, the duo behind the hit “헤어지자 말해요”. HYUK successfully extended the song’s understated and poignant sensitivity visually, capturing the emotions of the two main characters in close-ups and naturally immersing viewers in their story.
Long recognized for his skills in composition, writing, arrangement, and production, HYUK has also shined as an actor in numerous films and series such as “Chasing”, “Romance special law”, “Happy together”, “Ga Doo Ri’s sushi restaurant”, “Croissant”, “A different girl”, “Color rush 2”, and “Body parts”.
In 2023, he founded Ad.A, expanding his role as a content director. With the video for “지금 이대로만”, he generated positive reactions such as “The video allows full immersion in the song” and “We finally discover a song we listen to to watch the video”, consolidating his evolution as an artist-creator.
Furthermore, VIXX, the group to which HYUK belongs, recently concluded successfully their full fan concert after 7 years, “2026 VIXX FAN CONCERT ‘Case No. VIXX’”, at the KBS Arena, Seoul, confirming their vitality. While each member continues individual activities, HYUK’s progress as an artist-creator building his own universe and narrative draws strong interest.
