Between the stage image and MINGI’s own image, the feeling is different. MINGI talks about the group and himself.
MINGI of ATEEZ, the group that made its entry into the Billboard charts, successfully completed its tour in Asia and Australia, and swept the grand prizes of various award ceremonies, shared his sincerity regarding the group’s activities through a photo shoot and an interview for the May issue of “Singles”.
He who impressed the camera with his intense gaze and energy revealed during the interview that followed a calm and deep background, opposite to his image in the photos.
MINGI, who recently finished activities for “Adrenaline” as well as the tour in Asia and Australia, expressed his feelings: “I was happy to be able to properly convey to the audience the direction that ATEEZ wished to show through these activities.”
Regarding the concerts in particular, he displayed a unique philosophy by defining the stage as “not a space where one shows something unilaterally, but a process that one creates with the audience.”
Evoking the support culture of the fandom and the field reactions formed during actual concerts, he added with humor: “These days, I feel like we are having a duel to see who is having the most fun.”
He cited “teamwork” as the key element supporting their intense performances. Stressing that close cohesion with the members raises the degree of perfection of the stage, he confided that he takes rest and stability by spending daily time with the members, even after intense shows.
Furthermore, MINGI also announced during this interview the release of his first solo album “MINGI FIX OFF DESIRE PROJECT : ORIGIN”. Declaring that he is focusing on building his “own color” rather than limiting himself to a genre, he affirmed with confidence:
“The songs that will be revealed in the future are the ones that have the highest degree of perfection among all those I have worked on so far.”
He then expressed his ambition for his solo activities by adding: “Sometimes, it may seem unusual, but all of this will be a step specific to MINGI.”
