On January 2nd, 2020, the label of JACKSON WANG posted a retrospective on the artist’s year 2019. This year was a busy year for him: he knew how to advance in his musical career, but also on TV and in the fashion world.
Let us first return to his musical journey. In 2019, JACKSON WANG released their very first solo album “MIRRORS“. This first mini-album has 8 tracks, the title song of which is “Bullet To The Heart“. If his first album was sold only on digital streaming platforms, it was a great success: he recorded more than 12,000,000 sales and won the awards for Best Chinese Album of the Year and Best Album. pop of the year at the NetEase Cloud Music Awards 2019. His first album also made its way into the Billboard 200 ranking in 32nd position.
Before releasing his album JACKSON WANG also released his single “Oxygen“, and continued to perform on stage with a revisit of “Silence” by singer JAY CHOU which earned him recognition of the latter, an interpretation of his title “Faded“, an interpretation of “Chopsticks” with ROUND 2, an interpretation of “Rainy day” with Yan Zehuan, and many more.
He has also made numerous musical collaborations. He collaborated with the car brand BMW by producing the video clip “Bimmer Ride” and with the brand Pepsi by producing an advertising song with the Chinese singer G.E.M entitled “Together Passionately“. He also participated in 10 other collaboration songs: three with 88rising (“Tequila Sunrise”, “Walking” and “I Love You 3000 II”), one with Lai Kuanlin for the title “Hypey” from his album “9801” with Wooseok, “Too Busy” with the Chinese group BOYSTORY of the JYPE, etc.
JACKSON WANG who had initially seduced the public with his charm, his personality and his humor, continued to go on different shows. He has appeared many times on Chinese television (“SOUNDWAVE PARTNERS”, “MY BETTER ME”, etc.), but also on the Late Late Show YouTube channel with JAMES CORDEN.
The activities of JACKSON WANG in 2019 are not limited to the world of “entertainment”: he posed for many brands as an muse, for many magazines, and participated in the promotional campaign of several brands with large public.
