Need a painting for your wall? G-DRAGON’s marker and spray paint artwork “Youth is Flower” could be yours for an auction price starting at 30 million won (21,000 Euros).

“Youth of Flower” will be auctioned at the Seoul Contemporary Art Fair Auction on March 29, according to the auction house’s website. G-DRAGON, a member of boy band BIGBANG, created the piece in 2017 using a marker and spray paint on a steel panel.
Seoul Auction’s listing also includes pieces by visual artist Lee Bae, known for his monochrome paintings and charcoal sculptures, and artist Kim Sun Woo, known for his dodo bird creations.
Passionate about fine arts, G-DRAGON was even included in 2019 on ARTnews’ “50 art collectors to watch” list, New York magazine’s list of emerging art collectors. But this is the first time that his own creation, and no collaborative piece or piece from his collection has been put up for auction.
G-DRAGON has long shown interest in fine art and has even incorporated it into his musical endeavors, such as writing BIGBANG’s “Bae Bae” (2014) after being inspired by the Irish-born British artist Francis Bacon.

In 2015, he participated in the production of the exhibition “PeaceMinusOne: Beyond the Stage” organized at the Seoul Art Museum. A total of 14 contemporary artists from Korea and overseas exhibited artworks made in collaboration with G-DRAGON, with him as their muse. The singer-songwriter personally described and promoted the exhibition at a press conference.
Unlike other artists’ works, whose estimated prices are disclosed with their works on the website, G-DRAGON’s work requests a “separate inquiry” for its price.
Seoul Auction said the starting price of the artwork will be 30 million won and the winning price of the artwork will be determined during the auction to be held at 3 p.m. KST on March 29. “Youth is Flower” is currently on display at Seoul Auction’s Gangnam Center in southern Seoul.
